Quidquid Latine Dictum Sit, Altum Videtur

It may just be that it’s been long work day, but it seems that everytime I log onto GW2 something is broken.
Gilt Wallet 2: Zerg Safari.
– come see the mighty Zerg stand proud amid the eternally unhatched eggs of the Legendary Champion Veteran Karka Queen *
*note: combat not included
EDIT: changed topic to make it more relevent

Every time they add an event or update to the game it is buggy. As they just added the queen, which the majority of the player base was waiting for, you can expect it not to work as intended straight away. This is the way with Glitch Wars 2. I’ve never seen a major MMO as consistently bug-ridden as this one.

You can’t have seen many MMOs then.
Just seems the majority of threads are:
The X exploit still not fixed
X event not working
The TP is doing X
Well as I commented to my guild last week, it does seem like whenever new content is released, we are the bug testers. I wish this was different. I realize the team is on a tight schedule, and of course they try to get the content out quickly and bug-free. And of course there is limited time to test all the new content… but there always seems to be something broken. And that’s a shame.

That is however the same in every single game ever released though.
No matter how much you test something there is always something that slips through.
Yeah the bigger software gets the buggier it is. That said, the test server for Diablo 3 really made for a solid release whenever they did an update, because the bugs were mostly tested out by a big chunk of the player base.
Unfortunately they don’t test for fun in that game…

Actually even with that test-server Diablo 3 had quite a few issues coming into the live-servers.
For Guild Wars 1 there was a dedicated Test Krewe that play tested all the new content thoroughly before it was released. A bug can of course always squeeze through, but for the most part all new content was pretty bug free because of this testing process.
But something like an achievement not triggering, or an event chain getting stuck. I’m not sure how easy those things are to prevent through testing. Especially events getting stuck are something that only happens on some servers… which makes it really tricky to reliably test. Achievements not being given to players for killing the karka queen, sounds like something that should be easy to test though.
Then again, sometimes a bug will appear on the live server, when it doesn’t appear on the test server. That is simply the reality of bug testing. So I can understand both sides of the story. The players are right to feel frustrated when buggy new content is released. But it is unfair to assume that the team doesn’t test their content thoroughly. I’m sure they make a very hard effort to test it all as much as possible within the time given.

I never ran into any bugs while I was playing it, personally.
Thankfully, I was in SSC at the exact moment the update occured. I relogged in and everyone that was there quickly knocked out the 4/4 & the Queen. Got the chiev. Got the chests.
Fast forward to yesterday. Every time the Queen spawned it brought a magical army of karka that just pop into existence. It kept its 50 armor shell and lasted the full 10mins while dancing amidst a pile of corpses (ours).
Don’t know if it’s a bug or a scaling issue or an overpopulation thing or what. But I’m sure glad I was there when it launched the first time.
Yeah I hate to say “I can safely go back to ignoring Southsun like I did before” but that’s kinda the way I feel. I think I have enough t6 mats saved up to fully level my last 2 crafting professions, with no Instigator events anymore and the only events being “Kill a BILLION karka” and the Queen event being basically broken, there’s really no good reason to go there again…
