How I farm Southsun Crates
I’ve been doing that route the past couple weeks, and it’s definitely the best non-CoF farming I’ve come across, especially with the extra 200% magic find.
Running with a small group is best, though soloing is decent as well if you have a good underwater character. Guardian with spear and greatsword works wonders.
Hi!
I use a completly different method. My method got me 6 crates in under 3 hours yesterday. I’ll explain in the following:
First off, I like to do events, i enjoy them basicly, and getting the extra influence for my small guild is a bonus for me, with that said let’s begin:
I start at Kiel outpost waypoint, doing the riot. After the riot i done, I go and see if an event is up at the Kiel camp itself. If yes -> do it. If not -> go on the shores west of here and kill some young karkas.
Once on the shore, go north and find Leila, she will start an escort mission that wil spawn a LOT of young karkas (given you are traveling in a small group). Do the escort mission, you will end up in the Springs.
See if Crazed event and Riot are up (it should be by the time you get here). Do the events.
After you are done, head back to Kiel outpost. By the time you get back, Riot should be up again.
Rinse and reapeat the process.
This seems like a perfectly normal event farming tour. I would like to add one VERY important thing. Popular belief has it, that the mobs that spawn on riots don’t have loot. That is NOT TRUE. They DO have loot, but can ONLY DROP CONSORTIUM CRATES.
So what I recommend is: Get to the event when it starts, pull as many mobs as you can, tag them all with some AoE. My experience is, that you will find a crate in every 5-6 riot events.
Well that’s my way.
(Sidenote: I also recommend starting the Lionguard escort event, just start it, kill the reef drakes at the start, then leave it, someone is bound to finikitten).

I find 10-15g / hour a bit hard to believe (granted I don’t sell t6).

Average loot from 1 hour skelk farming is ~20 powerful blood (5g) ~20 vicious fang (3g)
50 potent blood (50s) , 50 large fangs (50s)
~ 50 s from grey/white/blue/green + 5 golds + 2 crates.

This is really cool because I love farming Skelks everywhere around the world
Thanks for the video guide, I will try this!

Hm, sounds reasonable after all. So you recommend the same route as in the video?

No, just farm the beach where he starts his grind in the video, the coast there below the WP. They spawn quickly to just do big loops on the beach and kill the nest when your waiting for the respawns.

This. Don’t bother following the whole route, there’s enough people farming on the coast below the asura gate.
Alrighty thanks for the info. Gonna try it out as soon as I get home:)

We do the big loop including water, because the DR doesn’t kick in as fast for rares. We find that more rares/crates drop while doing the whole route. If its just t6 mats your after, you can just stay on the beach, it takes a long time for DR to kick in because mf is so high. We farmed just the beach area for 3 hrs and we were still getting decent t6 drops.

That’s also a good point. Didn’t even know until now that this game had this DR thing. Gonna try both then. Good video btw.
Edit: How can you tell if it has “kicked in”?

I quite like the outpost to the north that has the 2 defender events, and an instigator event, plus the defender event at the WP to the north of that then fill the time farming young Karka.

Shh…you’re not supposed to tell everybody. Last night on the overflow server the beach was so packed with farmers. It was getting hard to tag ever Skelk.

I only go in the water because you get t6 scales. Sometimes I do very bad on blood and fangs. I get about 5 or 6 of each in the time I can get 20+ scales. The scales are also worth a little bit more too.
Alright, tried out both, the skelk famring, and the water route.
My experience:
(280-330% MF)
- Skelk farming is great with a coordinated group of 2-3 people. When others are farming there as well however you cant even tag the beasts.
- The water round (shown in the video) worked out great. 1 hour got me – 5 rares, 2 crates, like 8-8-8 t6 fangs, blood, and scales.
At the end, I got hooked up with random guys on anohter version of the water route (can’t tell exactly where, I promised them), yielded similar results then the cousre in the video. I think I’m gonna use this path, as it is less populated.
So thanks for the posts!
Only thing I wanna add:
DR is noticable after an hour, no matter what route I take. I recommend taking a break after that time (go hunt world events or something).
