I may need to be leaving for a funeral on the 5th.. will the Karka queen still be going on a few more days or am I probably just gonna have to miss this one?

IIRC The Karka Queen chain of events is permanent.

Yep, the karka queen will be a new world boss from 4th onwards.

so a lot of these new additions to southsun will be permanent?

I assume it’s from the 4th -12th for the Living Story Achievements etc, after that it will be permanent as others stated.

Supposedly.
Right now it´s hard to say which ones, as we simply don´t know at which “stage” the Southsun Isle will be “frozen” at the end of her part in the Living Story.

Especially as ANet currently seems to be very keen on getting rid of their own content barely after it launches. Hopefully (this time) this will include most of all the Canach stuff.

I doubt that. Most of them are Group Events undoable if not for zerg provided by living story happening. Maybe if they tone them down a bit.

Well the canach and subdirector NULL instances might go, but the Karka Queen could be a zone meta event that’s permanent.. but I wonder about the instigator events and the settler/consortium support buffs. Has there been any official word?

Could be that the rise of the queen result in the parties settling their grievances and pool resource to keep the beast contained.

Yeah, they are only fighting each other for the sake of the living story. Once the story moves on, the instigators events will most likely disappear.

Ouch, the instigators and sweet buffs are really the only reasons to come to Southsun, I hate Karka (I mean really, do they have to skeet on you with multiple projectiles that still manage to hit you after dodging half of them?)

My gut feeling is that at the end of the event the Southsun situation will be resolved so the only settlers there are those that actually want to stay there – which means the instigators and the like will disappear, and the karka queen will be the main chest event in the zone.

Nah Karka are annoying at best, easily countered with a projectile deflect.
Getting jumped by 3+ Drakes on the other hand is outright deadlier than most Champions.

Have to agree though, the buffs and instigator events are pretty much the only reason to go there, and almost certain to disappear.

The Enraged Karka Queen meta-event is a permanent addition and the rewards will also stay the same after the 12th. According to the guide you won’t be able to complete any of the achievements after the 11th, so I’d advise you to complete it before that just to be sure.

well I may barely be able to do that. I leave on the 5th, and will probably be driving home on the 8th or 9th.

You don’t need to, but a lot of people like to try and get all the achievements. It’s helpful for them to know that even thought the queen stays the achievement won’t.
