Is anyone else having issues with Researcher Levvi not giving out another gun, I lost mine yesterday after collecting only one sample. And now she won’t give me another =(

Check your inventory. She leaves an item that you can use to get the gun out without visiting her.

It gets stored into your inventory. It doesn’t look like a gun in there at all, so look carefully!

Don’t worry you are not the first and will not be the last one. I found it strange too until I found a strange icon in my inventory.

wow… so many threads about this. I actually had to ask on map chat why Levvi refused to give me a second gun. Since we normally expect environmental weapons to either disappear forever, or show up on the ground when dropped, perhaps this one should have been handled differently to avoid all the confusion?

Yeah I got confused by this, too. “Why won’t she give me another gun.” Then I found it in my inventory. It’s not very clear.

I think the biggest thing that makes it confusing is that it is completely inconsistent with how all other special guns like this behave. (As soon as you swap weapons you have to go get a new one, you don’t get one in your inventory.) So it’s a totally unexpected behavior.

I think the devs realized that with the distances you have to cover to find all of the samples you would get absolutely kittened over if you couldn’t switch back to your normal weaponry without fear of loosing the sample gun. If you did loose the gun every time you switched to weapons you would then have to go all the way back to Levvi to get another gun, then start the journey all over again. You can dodge some of the karka some of the time but you certainly can’t dodge all of them all of the time!

It has the same icon and mechanics of equipping/swapping as the candy meter thingie from Mad King. Though I didn’t realize that at first either, I just happened to spot a line in Duilfy’s guide that clued me in. At which point it became seamlessly obvious to me since I had done Mad King.

Hopefully it’s the sort of thing people can figure out with a short question and answer in Map chat.
