*NOW* do we get to meet the personal nemesis?
Sounds nice, but don’t get your hopes up
Until now, Arenanet has used the flattest form of flat villains: dragons that just destroy everything without a reason. Heck, you don’t even deal with minions that turn against Zhaitan, because all Risen are just as mindless as the big bad.
Deep storylines are one of the points in which GW1 outclasses GW2 by far. I never really cared about anything, not even when my beloved companion (sarcasm) Apatia died.
Just an add to OP: Kefka was ok in my oppinion…. but Sepiroth in FFVII… my god I hated that guy by the end. And there was a VERY satisfying battle with him at the end.
And yes. Give us bad guys. Good bad guys, if you know what I mean.
And yeah, JRPGs tend to build up bad guys well (mostly).
They rebuild Tybalt into robo-Tybalt and he is your sworn enemy.

Don’t… don’t say this.

Look into your heart, you know it to be true.
I’d prefer an antagonist, rather than a villain, for the Personal Nemesis. Fantasy villains usually fall into the pitfall of insanity, and they are usually evil for the sake of being evil. Which isn’t much character depth on their part. Antagonists are a little more freed up motive wise. While they might be opposing the protagonist, their acts and/or motives aren’t necessarily evil.
Plus, Team Kefka! Because Sephiroth is overrated…

Don’t go thinking an Apple-a-Day will keep Robo-Tybalt away. The effect is the opposite.
If you interrogate a prisoner dredge he mentions a silver-tongued snake-nosed guy that convinced dradge and flame legion to join. My money is on an evil genious asura =)
so another of zojja’s colleagues maybe
I hope the personal nemesis is somebody who has a kitten good reason for doing what they’re doing. Like I don’t know, something when they were growing up ended up making them despise the world, and they decide to destroy it. Then they meet somebody who changes their opinion on it, and as they’re slowly falling out of that phase, while we’re after them, we accidentally kill that person, causing the nemesis to go off the deep end.
