Ok, so I got the new karka shell and want to upgrade it to ascended. However, I don’t want the apothecary stats on them. Can I transmute my desired stats on first (with my current exotic backpiece) and then upgrade it to ascended quality?

I don’t know for sure but I sincerely doubt it…

I too am curious about this as i dont want condition damage in my build.

As someone who has already transmuted his to another exotic pc, with stats more preferable to mine, i cannot upgrade it to the ascended version. I gathered all the mat’s and attempted, and it wont allow me to throw it in the forge. I submitted a bug report, im hoping for the best =(.

When you transmute the karka shell onto the stats of item X, the karka shell is no longer the karka shell, it is item X that simply looks like the karka shell. You lose the ability to upgrade it and even if you could, it would simply upgrade back into the original stats but at ascended quality.

It’s not a bug, that’s simply how it works.

Can we get a mod/dev to confirm this? if so ill just sell off all my mats =(

1. Get a fractal capacitor with the stats you want.
2. Upgrade it to Ascended.
3. Transmute it to the tentacle monster.
4. ???
5. Profit!!!!

No. If you want ascended stats, you either upgrade karka shell and be content with aphotecary stats, or transmute sclerite skins onto another ascended back item with desired stats.

I have a back infused from fractal. If i trasmute, which rarity I’ll have? And this can remove the infusion?

I have transmuted the exotic version to a Berserker stats and it won’t be able to upgrade to ascended. This serves as an notice to players who wish to know whether if they can transmute the backpiece then upgrade to ascended. The answer is no.

Does anyone know if you’ll still be able to upgrade the piece after the event is over? I would imagine so, just looking for a conformation.

Can you infuse an ascended prototype fractal whose skin has been transmuted to something else?

The appearance of the (ascended) is really the same as exotic?

Thanks for the thread was thinking about this last night, so everything works fine if you transmute it over a Fractal backpiece then, thats good to know.
