I’m not normally a forum kind of guy, and I’m a very casual player, so please excuse my informalities if I do something wrong in forums. I would just like to say thank you so much to all the Mesmers. I rage quit, and that jumping puzzle had a way of valiantly thrusting up my rear when trying to complete it… but then I heard his voice… A fellow Sylvari over the map chat came to my aid. His name was Hikaru Kurosawa. Where ever you are sir. You deserve a good life. I was practically convulsing at the mouth attempting to defeat the time sensitive piece of poop…Regardless my soul was saved and most of all I got that last sample I wanted, and yes, later I did realize there were more than enough samples so I could have skipped the puzzle anyways… but hey life goes on. So THANK YOU Mesmers… Thank you for helping people like me.

Yeah my mesmer is parked at that jumping puzzle at the moment for people that need it lol. Thought it was not me specifically, you’re welcome! I feel like if I can help someone, especially a guildie or friend, that just cannot do something after over 1-2 hours of trying, then I’ve done my good deed! Of course people that tip are always nice too, even if I don’t expect it lol.

For the first couple days of the event, I was forced into overflow and there was always a Mesmer porting even there. Of course, being a Norn at the moment, I took advantage of the situation pretty quickly.

Yea, my laggy computers + Norn character = Some lucky mesmer got a 1g tip the other day for a portal. Take that Anet! Serves you right for picking on people who make norns!

The puzzle isn’t even that difficult.

Just relax and try to use your memory to navigate. I highly recommend practicing your jumping on anything. You might need to spend more time with your character’s mechanics. So try learning the distwnces you can cover etc. Then take that knowledge and speed it up, literally. Start jumping right when your toon touches down. See if you get the timing right.

Yeah, the funniest part is that my Mesmer is a Norn of the largest size and stature, so I definitely feel all other Norn’s pain lol! Norn and Charr are at a definitely disadvantage in JP (My main is an Asuran so it is super easy on him). This is why I feel good about doing the portals especially, because I know just how difficult they can be on some larger characters.

@Blackmoon: You have to realize though, not everybody has the coordination or skills to do this either, coupled with very large characters it becomes even more difficult. Personally I have 0 difficulty with any jumping puzzles, even the Mad King Tower (Which was a definite pain lol), but I do know that not everybody is me, people have limits.

I’d do it on my Asura I’m sure, but right now I’m playing a Norn and I’d rather not play ‘fight the camera’ along with the JP. I’ve done more than half the JP’s in the game, I’m definitely a fan of them, but it’s just painful with a Norn.

Posts like these make me want to kick my mesmer’s behind for sucking so much at jumping puzzles… nothing like a mesmer asking for a portal…

Whenever it try to do that puzzle, I always make it past all the timing parts only to fall through a hole and die. Tis happened while I was trying to get to the end to portal for some people, very embarrassing for me.

Finally got around to legitimately giving it a go early this morning, just for the fun of it. Took a little bit of time but eventually got through it. Done it a few more times since just for kicks. At least now I don’t feel so bad originally getting the achievement or more recently the sample via port. A little bit of practice goes a long ways…and if a particular jump seems impossible it might be and you might need to alter your course to accommodate that. There’s at least one spot in both sets of vents where continuing straight forward isn’t the answer as you’ll never make it.

May have been a guildie of mine – he was pleasantly surprised the other day for receiving a 1g tip.

I was surprised to see how many people are so geatful for the portals, it really feels good for us mesmers too to help you guys out. I recieved some tips too btw (even tought I never asked for it), unidentified dyes, 50 silver and stuff:)

So, I’ll keep making portals, just shout in map chat:)
