Supposedly these drop from mobs in southsun during this event. Everyone I’ve talked to in the zone so far has seen a drop rate of 0. I’ve been here killing stuff and doing events for 4 hours now and have yet to see a single drop rate.

Is the drop rate bugged or just totally abysmal.

Yep been using that buff and some MF food. Nothing from the various overflows I’ve been in and same from answers in map chat. Are you in an overflow or normal server?

Ive seen 2 before the patch, after the patch 0 just crap drops

I got one earlier when I was farming at karka.

I was in southsun for a while though.

Ive seen 0 crates running the MF buff and I have completed all the achievable achievements this far.… but my drop rates are usually tainted lol so we shall see….

It might be server related? But the wait time to get into non overflow is ridiculous currently…. on my server anyways

I found one after about 1.5 hours. Gave up after that.

Gotten about eight tonight, in and out of overflow. Four of them off the rioters at instigator events (they only drop loot when they drop a supply box; one gave me a box and a vicious claw).

I wonder if being stuck in an overflow could be causing some sort of odd dro kitten ue.

It’s got a pretty absurd drop rate. 200%+ MF and no drops in 3-4 hours? Not even 1 single box? And then the most important thing in the box is the weapon ticket which has an even smaller drop rate. ~_______~

So frustrating. You’d think that much MF would be… you know… useful.

No chests drops last night while I completed the 25/25 back piece achievement. I didn’t exactly farm tho and was in overflow for the whole time. Going back there tonight just to kill some stuff.

I played 2 hours last night and had the magic buff running, got 1 rare from a chest but it wasn’t a supply crate, during that time 2 different players linked dropped southsun supply crates in chat.

So, they do drop but there chance is extremely low, so even with high magic find the chance of them dropping is still very, very low…

I was on the overflow server the entire 2 hours…

Ok so it’s just an amazingly horrifically low drop rate. Guess that’s par for the course for Anet. /sigh Was looking forward to something interesting dropping from these annoying mobs.

Where you’re farming might have an impact (event mobs and whatnot). Spent about 25% of my time in SS running around, 50% doing events and 25% farming pre-patch mobs, and I never got a box outside of the 50%.

Go farm CoF and other speedruns and then exchange the gold to gems and buy the boxes. It’s easier.

I have had 2 boxes drop last night, so they do drop. Although both boxes just had normal Southsun materials.

I got one off a veteran hermit crab in about 30 minutes of play with minimal magic find. Nothing special in it though, just crafting materials. Still fun to get.

Better yet, take advantage of the +200% MF and straight-up farm them from SS. The boxes cost 4-5g in gems as is. You’re likely to get at least one an hour, in addition to all the other T6 mats, karka shells, masterworks and rares you’ll pile up.
