A social game... where we can't be social? (Overflow)
I imagine it will get easier to get in the same overflow as the hype dies down. The likely reason it is so hard to get in the same one is that there are too many people trying to move to the same instance.
Yeah its just frustrating in the meantime!
On top of that, Commanders are now trying to pull people away from actually completing the event, saying that if people zerg together, more champions will spawn. They literally said they didn’t care if the event completed or not, they just want money.
This new farming malarky going hand in hand with our living story updates, is really bringing out the worst in people. We really need quick diminishing returns on these invasions to prevent people ruining it for others.
i will say that it is rather annoying, i wish they just had channels like they did in gw1 where you could select which channels you wanted to enter, dont know what kind of stuff they would need for that. also, you could zone to LA, and then zone back in at the same time, that would probably work

The mechanics in general with GW2 are often really unfriendly towards playing with one or a few close friends. Since my play primarily with my spouse, this is particularly problematic (especially in PvP). =(

A conceptually simple fix would be to remove all drops from events spawned mobs, and present the players with end of event chests containing an assortment of relevant drops based on their effort within the event.
I have to agree that gw2 has some shortcommings on the social aspects and not only if you have a few friends. For example: my friends are spread over two guilds, but I can only chat with half of them at a time. Add to that the different worlds forcing me to guest all the time and play without earning influences or getting bonusses and I get slowly more irritated by it. I hope there will be some more improvements to the social side of the game, even more so if people are completely blocked from playing together like this. I believe so many people would be happier for it.
I can sympathize with the overflow issues and not being able to sync up with people. This shouldn’t be the case as it hinders one of the more important aspects of MMO’s… Socializing. Apart from working in LA, it would be fantastic if players had the ability to join up via right clicking player profiles.
As for Commanders asking people to join Champion zerg’s; I for one do not blame them at all. If you’re looking to assign blame, you need to look in ANet’s direction. Specifically, the lunacy that is DR. The pertinent question to ask here would be: Why are players doing this?

You can right click on your friends icon in the group and press join friend in (for example) Lions arch or Lions arch overflow.
At least i works for me and my friend cause we play together every day.
I still need one more invasion before going after Faren. I was happy to see that failed ones count too, since I am having a hard time dealing with farmers in overflows.
Well, let them have their fun. Farming invasions will probably end up being nerfed too.
I just wish I could play with my fellow Toasters. I am afraid that if I wait for too long, there will be just a few people doing the event and most of them will be farmers, so I won’t be able to get it done. I guess I will have to settle for the overflows and hope for the best.
