Do we know at all what the Aetherblade’s motivations are yet, or where they come from?

Has NO ONE interrogated them yet?

Nope.. we just kill them all and leave their bodies where they lie.

I think Mai is still in jail though, if you want to go rough her up some.

Their motivations seem to be following Scarlet because they’re afraid of what she’ll do to them if they don’t. Mai Trin’s comments at the end of the Aetherblade Retreat as well as something Scarlet says during the invasions (“Have you met my Aetherblades yet? They follow me because…. well, they like to live”… something like that anyway, noticed it for the first time last night) seem to support that. Whether she actually formed the Aetherblades or just took them over I’m not quite sure, though I’m leaning towards them being taken over since the dev blog about the Aetherblades said they stole their ships from the Pact, and if Scarlet had created them she’d probably be able to build the ships herself given how apparently brilliant she is.

As for interrogation… Mai Trin made it quite clear she wasn’t going to talk when she was imprisoned in Lion’s Arch. The rest probably follow that. Again, probably out of fear of Scarlet.

They serve Scarlet.

That’s it really, as far as we know. AD to be honest we don’t really need another dimension to them. Though being pirates I imagine they’d just go back to doing their own thing after Scarlet gets put out of commission.
