The Halloween Event, I LOVED! I got every achievement, made sure I got every reward. And spent ungodly # of hours mastering that stupid Tower…

Since, every event has seemed lackluster in comparison. I haven’t fully completed a set of achievements for them. Until now.

Something about this event has me hooked again. I’m on every day for a few hours I’ve already completed the Jubilee Achievements, almost done with the Clockwork Achievements and I’m having a blast!

Kudos ANet! It’s been a blast celebrating 1 Year with you!

I agree, this came really close to Halloween.

People complaining about this event, I have to ask what GW2 event is better than this? Halloween and Super Adventure Box are the only things close.

I liked the Queen’s Gauntlet and Scarlet’s Playhouse. The invasions and pavillion farming are stupid and booooooring.

I disgree that this was close to Halloween. The Mad King and his story is awesome while Scarlet and her story is really bad. The good thing about this event was her machines are really neat and I love the design. Her minions suceeded where she failed.

Disagree. I see this as one of the worse living story releases. The story segments and soloable parts (Scarlet’s Playhouse) were fine. I enjoyed the cutscenes very much. However, the main part of this release, the invasions were terrible. They served nothing but to cause inflation and quench the thirst of mindless farmers.

First of all, you get the same end rewards whether you kill Scarlet or not. Since not killing Scarlet give you more Champions and more loot, farmers will fail the event for the loot. What a terrible design, rewarding failure. I can’t get an achievement because of this.

The actual invasions themselves are not fun whatsover, it’s just like an other zerg fest and gets boring real fast. Do you know what I did to get my achievements for the invasions? I entered the invasion zone, tagged a couple of mobs and then AKF for 40 minutes. Yes that’s right, AFK for 40 minutes. I’ll get the same rewards as the rest of the zerglings, right? and no matter how much effort I put into it I, a single person, cannot get Scarlet to come out so why bother trying after I’ve already tagged my mobs? I have to rely on the zerg to make Scarlet out and the zerg would rather farm Champions.

I don’t blame the farmers for failing the event for more loot. Who could resist? It’s anet’s bad design that led to this. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes.

The story sucked; the cutscene made it better.
Scarlet sucked; her minions made it better.

I think Anet deserves their own in-game title:

I agree that that was one of the worst LS ever since Halloween. The Mad kind LS was real fun. But this – this is absolutely no fun, and I’m saying that as someone that likes farming. This is not just farming, this is kittened farming. “Go with the 30 other people, drop a couple of AoE, spam your loot key, you can’t see anything anyway, just look for the champions and fire, don’t mind about the event, it’s useless.” that’s how it is.
Farming is okay. But this is far beyond the “okay” point.

Dear Santa,
For christmas I’d like to get a crossbow for my characters.

I mostly agree with this. I enjoyed the invasions and the pavilion champs in small doses here and there, but I certainly won’t have done invasions in 13 unique zones by Tuesday; didn’t even try for that. On the other hand, I have greatly enjoyed the Gauntlet (even if I don’t beat Liadri tomorrow) and the Playhouse. I do think they need to work on their instance scaling. To me solo should be ‘hard-mode’ and the answer to not being able to solo something should be to get a team. But with both the Playhouse and pirate events you got from Gnashblade and Kiel, it’s actually easier to solo. I expect issues like that to be ironed out over time though, and I greatly appreciate the effort to provide instanced content that can be done either solo or with a team. Hope to see more of it in future events.

Hmm I dunno… I do see a lot of negativity about the event and notice a lot of animosity against the zergs. But I had this idea the other day…

Um, I saw the zerg went to one event… I ran to another. Sure i had a run a bit out of my way, but me and about 4 other people took out the event and I enjoyed it far more. Than had a followed the zerg. AND it help ensure our victory of the event since we were able to close the portal faster than the zerg was.

Crazy idea I know, but… shrug

Also I loved the playhouse. The first couple times frustrated me but once I got the hang of it, I was helping others get their achievements. And had fun while doing it. But I’m not overly picky. My job requires me to play a lot of broken games and content daily. Yall don’t know how nice yall really have it.
