Clockwork Chaos Overflow Issues....
I’m honestly not sure what your issue is.
Overflow servers DO have the invasion events, as long as said overflow was set up within 10 minutes of the events starting on the main server. Just make sure you waypoint to the invasion area within 10 minutes of the start and you should be fine and end up in an overflow with the event active. And if you do happen to come across an overflow that doesn’t have the event active (I have heard a few times of overflows that bug out and don’t have it), then shut the game down and try again, as long as you’re within 10 minutes of the start.
Overflows are synched with the event. You’re not supposed to wait on an overflow, just go to LA or any other map, when the event starts every hour on the hour based on server time, just see the alert to the right on your screen to see which map is it, then port to that map. If you do it within 10 minutes of the event starting, even if you land on an overflow, you will experience the event.

Right so as long as I am in the correct zone within ten mins of the invasion I can do the event?

In theory, that’s how it’s supposed to work, but I can confirm that it is NOT working as intended. The Overflows, even those created within minutes of the event starting, are not all getting the event. Porting out and back to try and get another overflow doesn’t work, and guesting to another server is a workaround, not a fix. The problem needs a fix, particularly a week into the event.

Yes (at least it’s how it’s worked for me so far) and also if you’re already in the zone (non overflow) when the invasion begins. Alternatively, if you missed it, you can ask friends or guildies if anyone is in an overflow with an active invasion, you can party with them, go into the map and join them in the overflow.

I can say with experience that the majority of the time lately I have landed in an overflow with no events and it has been within 10 minutes of the event notice. I usually have to hope that one of my friends made it into the event and I ask them to add me to their party so that I can join them in the event. It has been very frustrating to say the least. I am just happy that I managed to finish the meta achievement early on in the patch.
Hmm. I’m really not sure why people seem to have such varying degrees of success with the events in overflow.
I’ve done just short of 20 invasions, more than half in of those were in overflow, and I’ve gotten into an event every single time. Don’t do anything special, just port to the invasion zone ASAP when the prompt changes to tell me where said invasion is happening. Never run into the bugged overflow with no event. And yet based on some of the other responses it would seem that bugged overflows account for at least 50% of them.
I’m not calling those people reporting bugged overflows liars or anything, certainly. I’m just baffled at the varied experiences and how it can be such an issue for some and a non-issue for others.

Good ol RNG!
Most of my events out of about 30 have been in overflow, and I always join within seconds of the message coming up.
Just to add, the event is always running so long as you get in fast, even in overflow.

That’s been the key for me as well, hopping into the zone immediately and not dawdling. Have only gotten an empty overflow a couple times, and most of those I was either disconnected/crashed from an active one, or I took my sweet time getting there.
I haven’t done a single invasion because of this. I don’t have the time waiting for a chance to participate.
Yes the time spent waiting is very annoying, even more so if your waiting for a particular area, you could wait for hours.

Same here, and lots of times I even get in late and still get it. Heck, at least one time I disconnected when joining an invasion, the game wouldn’t connect back in, had to close it, open it again, and when I logged in (thinking I would have to start asking for guildies for an active overflow), got into one that had the event going.

You must be lucky, whenever I disconnect I never get back in, and I usually disconnect in the last few minutes.
Very frustrating !!

Thing is, I disconnected when it was like 5 minutes in, so I had time to get into an overflow with the event. If you disconnect in the last few minutes, you’ll be taken to an overflow without the event when you reconnect. A word of advice, group up, and add someone in your group to the friends list if you don’t know them. That way when you reconnect, you can just group with them again and join in their overflow. Since anyone that goes to the zone after the 10 minutes are past go to a different overflow it should still have enough space for you to get in.

I’ve been disconnected ONE time while fighting Scarlet at the end and it really wasn’t a disconnect but a Windows Error with GW2.EXE (I think the program was just overwhelmed….there had to be every player on the map on my screen at once).
I’ve never had an issue with getting in an overflow in the required time and not getting the Invasion Events generated. In fact, most of my overflow Invasion zone experiences have been more enjoyable and profitable. I’ve actually started waiting a few minutes after the attack announcement to get to the zone (often traveling by foot to save way point costs….I’m cheap that way) so I’m sure to get in an Overflow Map.

Sad to say, my first experience today with the event has left me disappointed and frustrated. Spend all that time porting around the zone and paying for repairs looking forward to earning the silver needed to make up for the losses only to get to Scarlet and there being so many players on the screen that the client crashes to the send error report popup and the jumping through the email authentication hoops only to get placed in an overflow where the event wasn’t happening in the zone. Then the next one is in a zone I have not yet been too nor can find on the map. So, I’m done, not worth a broken keyboard because of this nonsense.
If you hit an overflow that doesn’t have the event active, try guesting to a lower population server. You might still be able to get into the actual zone, and the server can probably use the help.
I have only been successful in defeating Scarlett once in 12 tries and that was in an overflow. I have gone to an overflow twice and the event wasn’t available but one time I left the map and re-entered and I was put into a different overflow that did have the event going.
I haven’t had a single issue with overflows (well technically of course) as long as I get in within the 10 minute mark
