This content is similar to the initial Southsun embarrassment in which folks are being tossed into multiple overflows, with the sheer amount of people fighting decreasing your chances of getting credit and overall lags you out or causes you to cr ash (apparently putting those two together will result in it reading “kitten”, very nice Anet).

It seems like the developers have not learned or can’t comprehend what these wide-scale events do to the servers and players. Even allowing the invasion to happen on two maps would spread people out a little more and make it more enjoyable and playable. Where it stands, it’s much like the problems we had in Southsun and I wish the company would learn from their mistakes. As disappointment grows, so does loyalty. I’ve changed my mind on purchasing gems with real money, as I don’t see that money going towards quality content.

I haven’t had/seen nearly the same problems we encountered during the southsun stuff.

In fact with the culling changes in pve my game has been running pretty smoothly even while in zergs.

Actually this event is very anti-zerg and if you do lag out, your machine will typically lag out in Lion’s Arch on a daily basis, regardless of there being a special event or not.

I play on a low-end machine that has a screen too large and a very bad ventilation system. I plugged in an external moniter that’s also much better than the laptop itself and run with 2 screens (1600×900 and 1680×1050). I have lagged once in this patch and it was once in an overflow at Scarlet right at the end of the event. I have completed the Invasion 16+ times and have beaten Scarlet at least 7 times.

Also, if you have problems tagging, perhaps you should try equipping ground targeted AoE skills to cast instead of trying to target mobs and attack them. I play as a Mesmer, one of the worse tagging professions, yet I get credit in every event I partake in. I make sure to tab-target until I get a proper mob with a high enough health pool for me to be able to properly tag.
