Hi there,

What is up with the randomness of the deluxe gear box qualities? sometimes when i hit a pirate champion once it drops an exotic box and when i sit on another champion from 100% to death it drops a blue/green box.

How can i make sure i get exotic boxes all the time?

you can’t.

bleu/green/yellow boxes will drop in the type of lvl area you are in. you can see that if you do lvl 80 frostgorge that you only get exotic, because you went over a certain level reach. lower lvls just have more chance in dropping lower type of box. High MF doesnt influence this

I was thinking it was DR as I can solo a couple champions in lower zones (or almost solo them) and would sometimes get white/blue loot bags. And for them I was usually only one of three people attacking and the first to engage.

I’m pretty sure that’s not true, Penguin. I’ve had instances where I duo’ed a Twisted Champion with another player and only got a Blue/Green/Yellow box, and others where I turned up to the fight in the last 10 seconds, got 3 attacks in on the Champion, and got a Gold box.

I’m inclined to think that it’s either completely random (50% chance to get Gold, 50% chance to get a box appropriate for the zone’s level), or that it’s affected by DR as Tobias theorizes.

I’ve literally gotten exotic boxes from hitting a champion a few times right before it dies, and white boxes from bosses I fought from full health. It makes no sense at all.

Like i said it depends on the lvl of area you are in. frost is mostly exotic fire heart rare/exotic and low lvl like gendarran has greens and bleus, the amount of hits doesn’t matter

I’m pretty sure it depends on how much the event is upscaled. I get exotic boxes whenever there’s many people around as well. When I try to close a portal alone or with 2-3 people, I get blue boxes.

Yet another reason this event is basically dividing into mindless zerg farming for a lot of money or actually trying to play the game getting the short end of the deal.

Could be just like the item scaling is. If you fight a lvl 10 mob as a lvl 80 character, you can get an item from anywhere between lvl 10 and 80, with heavy emphasis on the high end.

Bad luck I guess.
