Tag up! Get your Zerg, go to the Aetherblade spawn, only kill the champs and vets and leave the Captain alone. Due to scaling, a few people won’t be able to kill the captain if they wanna be kittens and interupt your farm. Melt the champs, and well isn’t that captain nice, he’ll just keep spewing a nonstop stream of champs for you!

In all honesty, just farming these champs in one spot pays out so much better rewards then actually trying to complete the event, but if people do complete it for you, the more the merry!

This is why we can’t have nice things. Anet gave us a huge event where we could finally works as a server outside of WvW and farmbots like you come and ruin it for the rest of us.

I’ve never seen a bot that is so articulate.
Also, I have only actually done the event with my server once very late at night. Every other time it is a PUG map. And they don’t necessarily play well together.

Easy way to “counter” farmers like this: Just leave and find another portal event to zerg.

The more people that are there trying to take down the captain, the more champs that will spawn. This way, when people that don’t want to farm leave, only the farmers are left. And they can still farm (maybe not as many champs), while the people that want to finish the event can actually finish it.

Works out for both parties. And everyone gets loot.

^ What he said. Doesn’t matter if there’s a big bunch of farmers all zerging it up at one event. You can complete Portal events in a 5-man group or less if scaling hasn’t kicked in (which it almost certainly won’t if they’re all at the farm pit). A couple of good guild teams can complete the invasion all by themselves.

Not to mention that most zergs are brainless enough that even if the Commander says “DONT KILL CHAMP PIRATE!” most of them will still continue attacking the Pirate Captain (because HURR, YELLOW CIRCLE? KILL!!!) and end the farm anyway. XD

With the disappearance of both pavilion and orr farm zergs I was wondering when people would start to farm aetherblades. Give it another day or two for more people to finish their Scarlet achievements and see Ember chat come to you at every invasion map: “DO NOT KILL CAPTAIN YOU *”. Especially seeing how this one is arguably more profitable than the embers, lots of champs and whats even better – veterans that spawn in big easily taggable clumps.
