[Feedback] Invasions and Casual Play
With regards to your 3rd point, it’s after the Clockwork Chaos release is finished that these invasions will slow down. So expect them to pop every hour for the next 13/14 days.
That said, I do agree with your first two points that it’s quite a bit of time investment for casual players. It also basically screws over anyone who doesn’t have a level 80 character and all the maps unlocked, meaning that newer players basically have to sit this one out.
Are you sure you need to do around 13-15 invasions? I haven’t tried it out yet but people have been saying 5 is the requirement.
You can do dailies to finish up the meta.
If you are planning on doing 13 invasions, you can no longer be considered casual.
Even better for casuals is when they finally login at 11 and get into an invasion instance only to be kicked out for an update. Thanks anet!

I didn’t know that dailies count toward the meta…that’s good. It is unclear by ANets description when these invasions will slow down, so some clarification would be welcomed.
I define casual as playing 1-2 hours each night with some nights of no playing whatsoever. Being required to play 13-15 invasions for the meta would be very difficult this time.
I have completed all other metas playing no more than this in the past. Not sure why this one has to be different…this would be the point of my OP.
I agree that it’s not really clear on a lot of things added to the game, there needs to be better flow of information as to the new features added. Currently a big issue I deal with is the lack of information.
On the queen’s jubilee the meta required more achievements than was available. I was confused and wondered how I was supposed to finish when there wasn’t enough to finish, it took a little while before I finally realized the new Living Story dailies counted towards the meta.
On that note, you don’t have to do the 13 invasions if you don’t want to and are completely able to finish the meta without doing so.
I get everything the OP is saying, but why should a casual player (1-2 hours per night, 5 nights a week) expect to get every meta achievement? They can certainly get many of the achievements, but to get the “biggies” they either have to put in a bit more “hardcore” effort, or realize not every achiement is obtainable by “casual” play.
I’m not far from this casual category myself, but if I want the extra points and rewards, I realize putting in a bit of extra time is required.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
i’ll say what i’ve said regarding the gauntlet a few weeks ago:
not all content is for everyone. if they design all content to be a jack of all trades, they end up not pleasing anyone.
that said, you have two weeks to complete 5 “defeat the portal” events that happen multiple times during each invasion. there’s plenty of time to do it.
Five DIFFERENT invasions is required to finish the Evorp meta or whatever the Asura is called. Thirteen DIFFERENT invasions is required to finish up the Clockwork meta. All of this can be seen by going to the achievement tab for each one and reading the descriptions.

As far as I know only one of them has a meta, the clockwork one. The other one doesn’t have a meta. So you either do it or don’t, it’s up to you.
On that note, thirteen different invasions is not required in any sort of way to finish the clockwork meta.
I play one hour each month. Why haven’t Anet created the content so that I can achieve everything within this hour?
I need my moms shoulder to cry on
Well, mockery and insult won’t get you anywhere – even if what you’re saying is correct being insulting makes people generally not care to what you have to say.
People have all the right to play casually and enjoy the game, but they also do have to understand that not every content is suited for every player.
Which isn’t even the issue of this thread. This thread is nothing more than a misunderstanding of the meta and how to obtain it with the new daily achievement mechanics.
I just want the Crown Pavilion to open back up (I missed the first two weeks of release) and apparently somehow got it to lock after the closing ceremony.
How many invasion participations are needed to do that?

You need to unlock (or beat?) the dungeon in order to get Crown Pavillion to open up again, as I understand it.
Which means a minimum of 6 invasions. 5 for the “Close 5 invasions” step of the story, and 1 more to get the components needed to recreate the portal which you can only get after doing the 5 invasions step. And that last bit is dependent on you actually getting all 3 components (means killing at least 1 Aetherblade Pirate Captain and Champion Twisted Nightmare, as well as closing at least 1 “large portal”).
Also note that it seems you need to do 5 separate maps for the 5 invasions step, whether that’s a bug or intended is unclear but it seems that people repeating maps don’t get credit.
Thanks for the breakdown!
Clockwork Chaos achievements / Emissary Vorpp Achievements
The 5 different map invasions cancelled is for the achievement ‘Portal Closer’.
The 7 different map invasions cancelled is for the achievement ‘Worldwide Invasion Responder’.
The 13 different map invasions cancelled is for the achievement ‘Invasion Canceler’.
It appears that to complete this one you will need to stop the invasions on every map that is capable of having invasion events.
You need 17 achievements for the ‘Clockwork Chaos’ meta achievement.
