Just finished the first invasion after the update and can summerize it as boring, easy, little loot and one champion per event. Basically now, once people get their 13 maps done, there is no point of going back to redo the invasions. Oh, and Aurora Glade barely made it even though the zergs were not farming champs but doing the regular events. So people, thank you for whining and for ruining a perfectly good and fun farm.

I like how it only took them two days to nerf this but quite a while to nerf Deadeye.

Actually, big enough zergs still get the old scaling. Had 4 champs before pirate captain popped while testing the nerf. It only really affects smaller farming groups which get flooded with lieutenants.

Unless, could it be? Challenging PvE content? An invasion that requires some form of organization to defeat?

Also, if you want farm, I heard the Crown Pavilion still has it’s events. And unlike the Gauntlet, they haven’t been nerfed.

these were not small farming groups, this was the big zerg on Aurora Glade, a very high populated server. After the event was done I ended up with only 10 champ bags, compared to the usual 30-35.

I can see how it could result in failure. Since how you need bigger clumps of people to scale up the events to get the same number of champions that means less spreading out and clearing off events. So the events cleared/time is lowered than necessary for a success.

The bigger problem with the invasions is that there isn’t much incentive for success unless you need the ‘kill scarlet’ achievement.

Oddly I didn’t notice much difference after the changes. I still end up with around 40 bags to open including the end bonus ones. Of the 14-15 invasions I’ve done we failed only one on the first day so everyone seems happy.

I noticed zero difference in champ spawn rates. Still getting 1-2 champs per reinforcement wave with ~15-20 people at an AB event, all other event types were not changed since their champs were all fixed to begin with.

Since the nerf I have noticed the event is extremely easy, I have done it 4 times since update and each time we have finished with 8-15 min left. As far as champ spawns go, I still see the regular amount of pirates spawning 4-8 and then the captain. I still net roughly 20-30 exotic boxes and 10-20 rare and masterwork.

Due to the events scaling, it unfortunately puts more emphasis on zerging (bigger Zerg = more champs). Personally I enjoyed the communication needed to complete the event, rather than just giant zergs because of how easy the event is now.

The one I did today after the change we were getting 3 champs per aether blade event at least.

I just finished doing one. It honestly didn’t seem that different. I still got over 25 deluxe boxes from drops like normal.
