Lance Delgado Lvl 20 Thief
Pocket Watch?
Lance Delgado Lvl 20 Thief
On the release page it says
August 14
“The Queen’s Speech release page is vandalized by unknown persons. Players and organizations receive a poem and a pocket watch in the mail. "I cleared my mailbox cause I know letters don’t arrive unless full, but I have not received any pocket watch/poem.
Has anyone received it yet?
That should read “some” organizations (and maybe players, I just know of the organization). The wiki has had a couple conflicting edits between a couple editors…one of them being me. Please check it again.
Edit: Yes, it’s a real pocketwatch actually sent to a fansite for marketing.
Well … Anet does have my address … oh boy oh boy.
But what organizations?
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Specifically, GuildWars2Guru received one.

I added the reference to the wiki and tried to clarify it was a fan site (organization also counts, but trying to clarify it was a real life item not in-game).
That is one nice watch, thanks for the link Vahkris.

Watchwork knights. Pocket Watch. Steampunk Aetherblades. Watchwork sprockets. Who invented the Watchwork knights? They are going haywire, it’s time we found their creator.

Maybe their inventor was Snaff? Snaff did say he was the only asura smart enough to make golems with heads…. the watchwork knights have heads…

Naw, I don’t think the creator is an asura, much less Snaff. Asuran technology is based on crystals imbued with magical energy, not in watchwork, and all of Snaff’s inventions were specially heavy on the use of crystals. Plus, I don’t think any Asura’s ego would handle inventing something like that (though I do belive the watchwork robots to be technologically inferior to asura golems) and not let everyone know.
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
The pocket watch is real and sent to media organizations to promote the event. The watch is nice and costs $65. They also received a letter.

I’m gonna start a fan site, and pray it does well enough to receive such goodies.
Who is Zorpp? Is he an engineer? He was the only one at the Opening Ceremony I didn’t recognise. We know from Mai Trin that a named NPC in a Living Story instance is an important NPC. Maybe he is the creator of the Watchwork knights? He could be working with Scarlet and be the one behind the sabotage. Presumably an engineer would be the one behind the haywire mechanical devices. Maybe Scarlet did something similair to the Dragonbash Ceremony. Maybe Zorpp is an Aetherblade in disguise and Scarlet wants him to look innocent or forgotten?
Named NPCs are always important.

You mean the Emissary Vorpp we saw in the opening ceremony?
I doubt he’s the creator of the Watchknights, as he was surprised by them and considered them a “marvelous feat of engineering”. He probably is important though, considering he’s a named NPC, so we better keep an eye on him. :P
I don’t think I’ve seen him since, though.
