I would also accept like a 60 sec timer where she appears but is in invincible so everyone has time to break combat and get to her before people can melt her

This what happened in our overflow too. She spawned after final wave to some location in middle of map with one zerg near her. That zerg killed her in some 10sec so most of ppl didn’t get achievement. She needs way more HP or some other mechanic so that ppl have a chance to get to her.
You seriously want to complete all achievements in the first 1-2 hours? Get some patience. My overflow just failed first invasion at all.
Recycle the zeros from the WvW achievements and add them to her HP.

No, I just want to get credit after a half an hour of map coordination. Besides, we have to complete it not once, but 5 times for Vopp. And if 90% of the time you cant make the ending, thats a lot of tries just to be there when she dies after a half an hour of work.

Missed out on Boss event, loot and achievement. Which is the climax of the 30-60 minute event.
So far I have taken part of 3 of these events.
- The first one straight up failed bc we had no clue what we were doing.
- The second succeeded, but the majority of the map missed scarlet due to low HP
- The third failed bc the frostgorge map was glitched and wouldn’t spawn foes
Boss event is pretty much the worst design imaginable. If you’re not in exactly the right spot when she spawns, you’re screwed, no matter how much you contributed before.
And adding more HP will just lower the percentage of screwed people a little.
ANet need to add a wind up mechanic or something so people have time to get there.
At least you guys got to her, the rest of us are stuck in overflow where “Scarlets minions aren’t attacking this world.”

Yeah increase health, seriously she spawned at the end of the event at the other side of the map and it died during loading screen because I first had to get out of combat.

Bumping this becouse its an issue. I just saw her spawning and then she was dead after 20 seconds. I clicked the closest WP just after she spawned. I have a fast PC with SSD so it loaded fast. Yet I still didnt managed to tag here becouse she just melted in seconds. This needs to be patched.

no kidding man, these players are like starving zombies or something, they devour content in a matter of hours then kitten about there not being enough content…no wonder anet is time gating so much stuff lol.

its not just scarlet its all the champions that die way too fast.with my condition mesmer build i cant keep up with the insane speed the zergs melt through everything cant tag enough.

If she spawns when you happen to be in combat, and if in that situation you do your very best to get out of combat as fast as you can, you might miss her just because you couldn’t WP for too long.
Please, PLEASE, PLEASE raise the Hp of her, she blows before you get to even port most of the time.
I ask of you Anet, when 300 people are going at her with full DPS she drops too fast.

Maybe you have to be around her long enough. I was around, and even got a shot off at her and saw the damage right before she died, but did not get the achievement myself.
I wouldn’t mind if she had far more hit points.
Yeah I’ll agree on this one, everything else I am happy with so far but scarlet should take more time to down I think.
This also makes Scarlet seem a lot less threatening than we thought before the update,
granted we did just mob her with 150 people, but still.
Make it a proper raid boss with several phases. The encounter is currently a joke.
Well, unless this is changed, I can only hope that she has a fixed spawning point in every area, so I can go camp there just before the invasion is thwarted.
I decided to give GW2 another try after seeing the hype around scarlet. We make her spawn in the last three minutes and before I could even select the waypoint she was down.
Our “epic bad guy” died within a few seconds. I missed out on the achievement due to this.
Is this a joke or something? Even a regular event champ has more hp than her.
I think part of the problem is that everyone just focuses their attacks on only Scarlet, and no one else, completely ignoring the other enemies around. Maybe if like every 25% hp she should gain a shield and require the minions killed to lower it. (similar in a way to 2-Multi bounty, or like how the veteran karka and higher have more than 1 hp bar.)
I took maybe 15 seconds to disengage from combat and figure out where the heck she was on the map… when I arrived she had less than 5% health left… not even time to run over and get a single hit in.
It’s a bit remarkable that a problem like this exists in new content. It’s not like this is a surprising new issue. World bosses have been getting over-zerged and dying ridiculously fast for well over half a year now. Haven’t any devs seen the Maw event during prime time hours?
I’m pretty sure that for the event I was in Scarlet died almost instantly. The event showed up to defeat her and literally a moment later it was over. I was like, “wtf just happened?”
I have a feeling she doesn’t scale or something which is the reason why she melts faster than like some of the scaled up champions you fight before.
She probably does not scale correctly because it would take too long to kill her, causing the event to fail more frequently.
It would be cool if she had her own timer and that it started after killing the waves of minions, so that she could scale correctly and do not cause the event to fail. Three minutes would be enough, I think, and it wouldn’t cause the events to overlap. I mean, worst case scenario: the event started 5:00pm, the overflow was opened at 5:10pm, the players took the whole 45 minutes to defeat the waves, finishing at 5:55pm, then they took the whole 3 minutes to defeat Scarlet, finishing at 5:58pm, just in time for the next invasion.
Completed 7 invasion so far, of which 4 were successes…EVERY time scarlet melted in 10 seconds and by the time the nearest WP loaded for me she was already dead. PLS fix this is ridiculous
Requiring an entire zone collapse down on one mob regardless of how much HP it has is kind of a silly move especially when you consider the event encourages everyone to spread out.
I think she is another example of ANet not understanding how to make proper boss fights (or are limited to what they can do).
Everyone is required to spread out and fight multiple enemies for almost a half hour or so, and then the final boss shows up, and stands in one spot to get pummelled by the zerg.
What is even more strange is that the teleports all over the map during the main fight, which is cool, and then stands around waiting to get hit at the end.
What I think SHOULD have happened is that while players are fighting the waves of enemies, Scarlet is teleporting randomly around the map to help where there are biggers zergs. Her attack should penalize large groups with a really strong attack.
This would force players to spread out a bit, which would make fighting the enemies all that much harder. As she ports, players can attack her, which slowly take down her HP. Players however need to make a choice, do they focus on Scarlet and take out her HP (making her harder to kill at the end), or leave her alone, and kill enemies (which you need to kill, so she’ll come at the end).
Once the players kill all the enemies, she spawns and starts to fight. However, she’s smart. If too many players zerg her, she’ll teleport between a few different places on the map. This gives players a chance to get out of combat, and “chase” her down.
Eventually, she gets too weak and has to make a final stand. She does this by throwing a last ditch effort of enemies at players keeping everyone busy while others show up. Eventually, players overwhelm the enemies and take out Scarlet (who at the end could blast everyone away in a big LoTR style boom allowing her to get away).
Everyone who participates in attacking Scarlet at least once gets the chest regardless of where they are on the map (as long as they’ve done decent damage.)
To me, this would make the fight much more amazing, dynamic, and help to break up the zergs a bit. I would like to see the game punish and spread out zergs more. Boss fights in open world should not just sit in one place and allow 50+ people to create a giant mess of FX and bodies.

Sadly, even an SSD doesn’t help much when she spawns near a zerg at a wp. I load in like 10 seconds and I still wasn’t able to make it to her when she was right on top of a wp, all because there was already a zerg there. It’s a little ridiculous.

On FC, during the BTC invasion, the commanders were telling people to back off. Her HP stayed the same for 20-30 seconds. Some people still didn’t make it in time.
This should of been our anniversary gift instead
She definitely needs more HP. She was completely destroyed after a few seconds.
An update yet no fix. Anychance of a comment whether this is to be changed?

My experience:
The first time, no one knew what they were doing. She went down in about a minute. I was no where near.
The second, commanders asked people to not engage her in combat until enough people had gathered so they could also get the achievement since they’d also fairly fought and co-ordinated for 35 minutes. No one listened, zerg rushed her and had her dead in 20 seconds. I was no where near.
The third time, I got there about 3 seconds before she died, got in one hit, and got the achievement. Others missed it due to loading screens and the zerg melting her so fast.
Fourth time, most of the group on the map got the achievement because the zerg took a full minute to down her and the closest WP was announced in Map Chat.
Fifth time, people again arrived too late due to late loading screens when TPing but I was in her area.
But all five times, despite only landing a hit on her during two of those, I got the end of event loot (choice of scraps or boxes and the other goodies). I only got the achieve and extra chest the first time I actually got a hit on her.
Are you guys NOT getting the event success loot chest at all? Because WOW, is that not fair.
I agree. Either give her more HP, or invincibility moments or lots of annoying stuns/knockbacks/cc. Make her feel like a real boss and give everyone who participated a chance to tag her for loot/achievement etc. I had loads of fun with the invasion event last night, but missing out on Scarlet really bummed me. I didn’t even get to see her. :S

It’s so funny that generally my complaint about bosses in this game is that they’re too much ‘HP sponges’ where you have to pointlessly knock off a bunch of numbers for far too long (see end boss of SE1, and many many more bosses that have too much HP).
Then this invasion content arrives (which I like!) and the end boss is made of paper. Definitely need a tweak, though I hope they don’t go too far and turn Scarlet into a 10 minute HP punching bag.
Just a little upwards to give everyone another minute or two to get there would be just right.
I guess this is a thing they could hotfix very fast? Considering it takes that much time to complete the event and it often fails(failed for me 3 of 3 times on Vabbi where I guested to avoid overflows).
I hope they won’t wait too long with the fix.
Anet can you please hotfix Scarlets hps? Times her current hps by 5, she should last aprox a minute then, giving everyone a chance to get to her…

It’s even worse when some random wolves drag you into combat. That means you can pretty much kiss that Scarlet encounter goodbye, because you’ll be stuck in combat. By the time you can waypoint, even if it’s only 5 seconds, she’ll be dead. She dies that fast.
She shouldn’t be engaging us to begin with. She’s clearly supposed to have a genius intellect most people aren’t even able to fathom. Why the hell would she jump face first into the angry mob with pointy sticks that not 30 minutes ago, trampled over her army of firm butted robot demons from hell?
