So whom is having fun with this event?
I like it too. Some people will always find a reason to criticize things.
I’ve been having a good fun running it. It’s only the same vocal minority that have the inability to control others that are having issues with it.
I liked it, though I must admit that by my thirteenth invasion I kinda hoped it would be over quickly.
I’ll add this event to my list of “That was great, but it would be even more awesome if they’d fixed everything from the beginning.”

Guild Wars 2 will be an amazing game when it’s finished. Compare Prophecies to EotN!
I’m having fun.
I should consider myself lucky since I haven’t experienced the problems people post here.
As much as I’m enjoying it, though, I get tired of it after 2 or 3 invasions in a row and just wait for the next day until I do another one. That said, I’m on 12/13 which isn’t bad for an average of 2 invasions per day.
I guess I’ll be the first one. I do the events occasionally (at most 1 a day) but only because I feel like I’m falling behind in the gold department if I don’t do them: There’s a few things I’m looking at in the gem store that I’d like to buy with (exchanged) gold, but since the invasions came out, the value of gold (with respect to gems) has plummeted.
As for the actual content, doing two invasions were fun — especially since this was our first look at PvE without culling. But it got tedious really quick. The fact that winning or losing the fight has no consequences doesn’t help to get me motivated!
Oh well.. maybe the next chapter will be more to my liking — I actually enjoyed the Gauntlet (RIP) and discovering/creating builds for the fights.
I have had fun, but only when it lets me play on the overflow server. Lately it was letting me play on the overflow. Tonight its back to not letting you play on the overflow server. So I logged off.
Quite frankly, I’m always having fun. I play GW2 in my free time and, as a Law student that loves to play video games, I really need this kind of easy, quick entertainment. I appreciate every free update and I can usually find something I want to do. I’m still at 11/13 maps for Invasion Canceler, but I’m slowly getting there.

I don’t mind the LS but it killed WvW on our Tier 3 server since it pulled too many players to PvE invasion maps.
I’ve had plenty of fun. The only downside has been the need to watch the clock and be ready to interrupt whatever I’m doing at the top of the hour if a needed zone pops, thus not starting long PS instances etc. Once I got my 13th, that pressure was gone. And I’ve not done an invasion since! The gold income was nice but there’s a limit to how much I want to run around killing things nonstop for 45 minutes.
I really do like fighting the twisteds and aethers, actually. Something about the clanging metal sounds of beating up watchwork creatures is deeply satisfying. And the aethers do some interesting things and might drop rapiers!
Had a bit of fun. Getting old though. Just one big zerg farm fest. Looking forward to SAB.
I was enjoying it but between the QQing in map chat over farming vs completion and the “Something That Rhymes With Gape but with an R Instead of a G” jokes every time we get to Scarlet, this event is dead for me.
Forever known as “that slow guardian who can’t jump worth crap”.
I’m having a blast. I love the wide open mayhem of the invasion battles. And it’s not a bad way to earn coin, either.

I’m having fun with it. Following the zergs is pretty dull but I generally head into the country and find some smaller fights. Technically, this month has delivered much bigger scale events and the performance is much better than anything with the Karka. The graphics, monsters, and voices are all good.
I’m not sure the event was that well put together though. There are just static spawns put onto the map at various locations, one after another. That’s it. It would be better if the enemies were building big turrets or landing strips, had unique leaders with their own mini events, or even moved to attack somewhere. Overflows, champion loots, some poor zerg fights, lack of story, these things all need sorting out before the next war event.
Just epic events in this month enjoyed them all
I’m enjoying it. I just hope to get 10 more achievements before it leaves. Since I hit 5 today (and half of Fire and Frost), that may not be such a hard thing. I don’t expect to get all the core ones done, but I suspect the dailies will make up for that.

fans hate Jar Jar Binks.”-not a direct quote, but still true.
Fighting the Twisted minions is fun because of their interesting mechanics, but I got fairly bored of the “mass zerg invasion” fairly quickly. After I got all the achievements, I went back to my usual map exploration activities at my (more enjoyable) sedate pace.
Good fun but it’s too long and it’s got tedious very quickly.
Too much and too tedious. Would have needed much more variety. I did all the achies except the 13/13 one and then I was done with the invasions.
Playhouse was fun, but short and easy.
When it started to work I did a couple of events right after another. It was fun, i still do one a day or something but only if I like the map it is on.
I like that they are catering to different people (some like zerging, some like small groups, some like solo, etc), but don’t like how this part of the living story feels almost exactly like running around below the gauntlet. Once you’ve done one world zone event, you’ve pretty much done them all, making it pretty repetitive.
The playhouse was neat, but not really worth doing once you’ve gotten all of the achievements.
Whom?
…anyway, I like the style of the event, though I think it would’ve been improved if (initially, anyway) it happened in two zones at once, and if the different types of mobs were closer to equal in difficulty and reward. It’s a bit dull that if I want a challenge or loot I need to fight Aetherblades (granted the Nightmares are decent, but make up a small part of minions overall and only the even rarer champions are rewarding to kill).
In defence of the minions though, as far as GW2 enemies go I’ve found their attacks for the most part easy to see and counter effectively in practice, meaning when there’s actually a fight going on and it’s not some type of 1v1 with the creature in a high visibility situation. I guess time will tell if they’ve actually started designing for that, or it’s been a coincidence in this case.
I find it bit too long, especially when it’s on schedule. I really want to have control when I do stuff.
Hard to have fun when just trying to get those 5 invasions done.

It reminds me of the lost shores event last year. That’s to say it was fun (albeit laggy and uncoordinated) for an afternoon. But it’s not fun doing for two weeks. I only did it to get some achievements and it was getting stale from that, couldnt imagine putting myself behind it full time for two weeks in the name of gold farming.
This is basically the ancient karka in a fixed form. A huge pro-zerg event that yields good loot. The only difference is instead of having one shot during one afternoon, it repeats hourly for two weeks.
So if I had fun for the first evening but feel “meh” about the event repeating for two weeks, which side does that count for?
I’m still having a good amount of fun with it. I’ve completed all the achievements aside from the Playhouse Perfectionist one, and I don’t really care if I get it or not, and now have decided to farm these while it’s available.
Yesterday I farmed 3 of the events and got some good returns from it. A couple exotics, a handful of rare, and more mats than I can shake a stick at. Boosted my gold up some, bought some gems… Yeah, last night was a good night for me
I’ll be interested to see how these invasions play out as the weeks go on.

Would be nice if there was a way to get the notification to show the location on a map. I have no idea where half of the places described are and by the time I’ve found them online then gone to some nearby waypoint (if I’m lucky enough to have found one in that area), it’s all over.

It’s a nice change of pace to spice up my gameplay for a few weeks.
I also made some much needed extra gold, so I don’t feel I have much to complain about.

I’m sorry, but I have to be that guy.
It’s “who” (subject pronoun), not “whom” (object pronoun). The person is having the fun.
A little hint: “whom” usually requires a preposition. “To whom,” “For whom,” “From whom,” etc.
As in, “To whom was this comment directed?” Or, “Who shall take offense?”
