I’ve been missing Maelstrom because it apparently never shows up. I go to do the dishes, and its 10:09 with Maelstrom. However, I get stuck in an overflow with no Maelstrom because I was about 10 seconds away? What stupid design plan was this? I can’t think of a single reason of why there should be a time limit on overflows, the reward is map-bound anyway..

Because if there wasn’t a limit, you’d get a whole ****load of freeloaders joining the map as soon as Scarlet spawns.

Party up with someone in the “main” map or overflow where the event IS running and Join them. You’ll probably be told the map is full, keep trying and you’ll get in anyway.

The problem is even worse, I died during an event, ported to waypoint and got dumped to an over flow server where the event was no longer active, then got no credit from the event after wasting 30mins. I’m sick of poorly designed, untested events.

^ should report that as a bug because you aren’t supposed to be put in a (different) overflow if you use a waypoint.

This ^^ That said, the events should scale based on the number of people on the map. ANET already has the logic in place for guild bounties. Extend it to this event as well. In other words, a less populated overflow should be easier than a full one.
