This better be some speech. This is a video game and event we have to look forward to is not a battle,, a celebration, a discovery, and exploration, but instead a speech??? Surely there has to be some sort of intended irony for naming this event such a understated low-key non-exciting title.

I wonder if the designers purposely named this event “the Queen’s speech” is an understatement for what is about to happen during the actual living story. Maybe there will be some huge catastrophic exciting events, but ironically the title is very bland and boring sounding. Think about it. Get all the past events with much more exciting names that eluded to fierce battles and new mysterious places. But this time around we get the most boring bland title for a living story yet: “the Queen’s speech.”

Yet at the same time, if this is such a exciting important events, I am sort of afraid that such a bland name won’t attract enough players to attend. People will look at it and be like “while a speech? Really? That sounds so boring I think I’ll just skip it”… Unless of course there is some sort of exciting surprising uproar on the forums about how exciting the living story turns out to be despite its plan title., And this uproar in turn will attract back the players that decided to skip the event from judging its title.

I think her speech is gunna be her practicly summerizing the last year from the human perspective, and then talk about what her people are planning for the next year.

Prolly talk about signing peace with the charr, or going to find the human kingdoms of Elona or Cantha, which of course won’t be implemented for a LONG time, but her saying its gonna happen doesn’t contradict what ‘whats-his-face’ from Anet saying there will be no new lands for the rest of the year.

Oh yeah and obviously the aetherblades are gonna ruin the speech at some point and we have to fight them, that much is obvious.

Maybe what wooden potatoes theorizes is true and divinities reach will be invaded by the aetherblades / inquest / Shodd the asura

Yeah pretty much. I won’t be disappointed as long as Scarlet is revealed, or the woodenpotatoes theory comes true.

I’d prefer if they didn’t reveal Scarlet just yet.

Milk it for a little longer. Wait till we have a few more villains, all of whom could plausibly be this Scarlet. At least then the community can have healthy discussion/speculation of who Scarlet really is.

If they revealed right now, it would just be a case of “yeah told ya so” or “figured as much”.

The was a time when the RP stood for role-playing and people enjoyed the story behind the game.

These days, I wonder if it means Raid&Plunder…

Yea, millions of players are killing hundreds of them every day (hour/minute?) and they are going to invade…
Even when we say – one server is killing them in thousands every hour then it will show that there are more pirates than people in Divinity’s Reach

It won’t be the speech, it’ll be what happens during the speech.
