Why is it that your last two content updates inspire more frustration than previous ones? (though I guess not quite as much as the first one-time-only event)

I realize you can’t make everyone happy but there are some very clear blunders Anet is making and they don’t seem to be learning from their mistakes.

- waiting around in queues
- zerg content (if you’re going for an epic feeling, you’re failing at it)
- dome shaped arenas with poor camera mechanics
- blocking access to existing content (gauntlet) forcing people to play through queue-zerg-portal-athon
- ruining the economy with new gold farm, that also delays others from progressing through it.

To date Sky Pirates of Tyria and Four Winds of the Bazaar have been my favorite updates. I had very little problems with them and I was able to do the content at my pace. This new content makes me fell like I running to catch a train I keep missing.

Honest question, what would fix the “zerg content” issue? I mean, if there truly was one zerg on the map with the current content it would likely not win the event. The open world events can also be done with small 10-20 man teams (heck, I’ve done some with 5). And the thing they did add that was actively anti-zerg is also on your list of negatives (queues). So what should they do differently? I’m being sincere in my question.

(And I do agree that the domes are a poor design with the current camera and I question what they’re doing with the economy but am willing to see what they’re planning.)

Personally, I think it’s the commander tags in PvE. It’s far to easy to just follow those tags. Granted, people may still just “zerg up” in chat or find groups as they go along doing content, but in my opinion that commander tag just creates zergs instantly. If they weren’t there, that may separate some people.

People are always going to try and do the most effienct way of earning stuff in MMO’s. It’s super easy to just leave auto attack on in a zerg and not worry about being hit most of the time. Not to mention it’ll most likely spawn a champion, and people go crazy for those. So, really, I’m not to sure how to get people to break up. Content over the map with a time limit that’s challenging is a good idea, and I also think those commander tags cause problems.

Might be connected to the issue where the only way to get credit for an event is to either do damage to something or turn an item in to an NPC. You can’t get credit for support (whether that is healing or organizing groups or whatever). It kind of limits what they can do with these events as they have to always be go to x location and either kill something, click something, or collect something.

Waiting to do living story stuff is NOT fun. If you miss the kick off and then miss the 10 min window to enter the overflow you have to wait (usually until the end of the hour) – not fun!

Having said that, once you are in and get that mass murder on it is kinda fun and VERY rewarding.

But still, the problem is wait, wait, wait.

Perhaps if they started a second invasion on another map halfway through the first 1 it would help with this problem? Have them start every 30 mins and not hour on the hour?

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

Goodness! This. How hard is it to start a second or third invasion? All the game has to do is look at the overflow numbers in the zone!

I really like the two new updates. I understand that the whole zerg content isn’t for everyone but it seems like it brings people together to work for a goal. I like this a whole hell of a lot better than just running around maps racing people to Dragon Pinata spawns

I’d rather they just cut down on the insane number of times you have to do these events before you have any real continuation of the story. If you only had to realistically do the event once or twice I don’t think we’d have near push to rush this content.

I was cussed out in-game due to trying to work my way through the gauntlet by someone that was continually failing to Liadri.

I suppose they just couldn’t stand that someone else got to play.

I don’t like the whole waiting thing.

The “world boss” stuff just illustrates issues with current world boss style events.

Everyone watches the timers and rushes to a specific server for the big bosses. Then overflows happen and people miss the boss.

Disconnect mid-event? You have to wait until next time.
