I assume all the threads talking about rumours and spoilers are from the Livestream but I want to see it myself.

When is going live and if it is Live how do I access the content? I checked the Pavilion and nothings changed.

The last, maybe, three updates have all been between about 9am – 12pm P{?}T.

The last few patches were already live at this time, so I’m also a bit curious.

Right now I’m avoiding anything that might spoil the surprise, as I want to experience it for myself.

Good, I wasn’t the only one who woke up this morning wondering if the patch happened while I slept.

Cutthroat politics was around 2 PM Pacific and has been the latest release in a while. Whereas Queen’s Jubilee was released ~6 AM Pacific. There’s too big of a time difference to say for sure, but, it is safe to assume it will be before Noon Pacific because they are showing the stream at that time (a stream they intentionally delayed a day so they don’t spoil anything).

Well I woke up this morning being a Brit and went on GW2 and had some patches download and figured it was the new content.

Then I remember a 6 hour lul for maintenance and such for the new event and went live at 3pm GMT (Currently 5min to 3pm) and with no down time im getting curious.

I’d guess it will be live in around… 3 hours (or a bit more). The Queen’s Jubilee did take a bit longer (and therefore the servers went down earlier) because of the change to the account wallet, since I think the database had to be adapted as well. This was a major change with cricital data from every character in game. Since nothing like that will happen in The Queen’s Speech, I think they will return to normal patch times.

“The hour is later than you think” – I think that’s a hint that the patch will not be early in the morning.

When it’s ready

There was just an announcement in game that a new build would be available in “an hour or two”.

So I would expect the next update to patch and go live imminently

Although according to their infamous track record, soon could indicate anytime within the next century or so, so I certainly hope this is not a Blizzard case of “soon”.

Uh, no. “Soon” has been dev speak longer than Blizzard has been around. It just means something different when Blizzard says it, that’s the only thing “famous” about their use of the word.

Uh, no. “Soon” has been dev speak longer than Blizzard has been around. It just means something different when Blizzard says it, that’s the only thing “famous” about their use of the word.

True, but like I said, Blizzard has sort of made that word their own, which is why they’ll add trademark to the word whenever they use it. Sure developers have said it before, its a common word, but its usage in game development could point in that direction, since they’ve become so infamous for throwing it around.

In the context of my post, the use of throwing soon onto just about anything and everything content wise has become a Blizzard “kitten -off” method, as it may mean weeks, months, years, decades… Which is why I said I hope we don’t have to use their version of the word here.

“The hour is later than you think” – I think that’s a hint that the patch will not be early in the morning.

I think that’s something to do with like… waiting until the darkest hour or whatever. I think that’s basically just reference that, we’ve run out of time (according to this chick) and we’re all going to be waiting for impending doom.

I certainly have news for her…
