I did the invasion event in 2 zones yesterday – harathi hinterlands and blazeridge steppes, with both times participating through all the stages including killing Scarlet and getting the rewards for doing so. Why i check the living story progress bar about stopping invasions in different zones its says 1 out 7 and 1 out of 13 respectively. Any reason for that ?

Having the same problem, also Vorpp’s portal closer deed isn’t updating.

I know I didn’t get any achievement update after doing the event in Blazeridge Steppes. I got the 1/13 and 1/7 later, when I caught the last 5 minutes in Frostgorge…

Another event just ended in Blazeridge and still no update on the deeds.

It have to be different zones don’t forget that.

That being said earlier today bloodtide did not count for me either.

Blazeridge didn’t count for me too, I’m 90% sure that didn’t do it before (it will be good that there is list of zones that we finnish, hard to remember for all 13 zones)

I have only finished one invasion and still the achievements didnt update.

I’m 100% sure I didn’t do it before, as that one was the first I’d seen :P

Yep, there have definately been zones I’ve done today where I haven’t finished it previously. Neither the clockwork or Vorpp deeds are updating, so I’ll leave it until fixed.

As always, when you have to do an X number of unique things, it’s best to make a list to keep track. This is the same for diving master and dungeon master. Check it off when you see yourself receive credit.

Finish an event in 13 unique maps when that event shows up once per hour on just one map, and the low level maps never see these events. So we get to sit and pray to the spirits of RNG that the map we need gets invaded?

If it doesn’t get invaded we can all just go pick our noses until the next event starts?

Lovely, but you know? Anet doesn’t make grindy games. Just… saying.

seems blazeridge might be the problem.

I finished all zones, was writing them down on paper so i won’t get confused with what i need. 13/13 on paper 12/13 in achis :/

Each zone only counts once. But unfortunately, sometimes they don’t count at all.

My husband only credit for 1 zone and has done 4 zones. There is something wrong with the tracker.

Yeah I have done 11 zones so far but my tracker is at 9. No idea which zones didn’t count either…

For me so far.

I got them all done, but I had to go hardcore on it.

Everything was updating for me yesterday.

Today I have done 3-4 new unique zones I didn’t do previously (my 3 were Harathi, Fireheart, and then Blazeridge) and after that I don’t seem to get any updates for any of the unique zones I’ve done in Bloodtide, Lornar’s or Dredgehaunt.

I checked my list. I’ve done 8 different zones and have gotten credit for 6.

I did Timberline Falls last night in an overflow and got credit for it. I arrived in time to help with the First Wave and stayed all the way till the last Wave, including killing Scarlet. (Lucked out when she spawned right on my zerg’s position.)

Based on my experience, I guess we can rule out not getting credit in overflows, unless particular maps are bugged. Other things to test:

1. Do you need to take part in every single Wave during an invasion for credit to be given?

2. Do you need to close portals AND fight off Molten/Aetherblade reinforcements for credit to be given? (Some people I know are sticking purely to just fighting Twisted mobs to farm their drops.)

3. Do you need to fight Scarlet for credit to be given?

4. Does the invasion event need to succeed (players beat back the invasion) for credit to be given?

Recently, I’ve done Fields of Ruin and didn’t get any credit either, and I’m sure it was the first time I was doing that zone.
When you spend 45 minutes killing stuff in the same zone, you will probably remember it.

No and no, I can tell for sure.
I’ve got credit for Timberline Falls even though I didn’t kill Scarlet there, and for Frostgorge Sound too, and the event failed.

I think there is a problem with phantom resetting if you waypoint to get between invasion points on the same map.

I did a few yesterday and the only one that counted was when I did not waypoint. I ran around like a mad thing with the zerg. The other times, I waypointed around the map and it didn’t count.

This may be end up being nothing, but the supersitious part of me is screaming at me to not map around in future.

Hmm, that is a good thing to test, Snoflake. Last night when I got credit too I basically stuck to the NW section of Timberline and didn’t waypoint anywhere. The only time I waypointed was after the event was over.

This could make the “complete 5 portals in 15 mins” achievement hard to get though…

You’re right Zax. It won’t hurt to test it a couple of times to see if this is the problem. You will still get mountains of loot.

And with the 5 portals achieve, have a look at the map and see the greatest concentration of events and stay there. That’s what I did and got it. The portal achieve timer starts on the first kill of a portal and doesn’t include the Molten Alliance or Aetherblades in waves 2 and 3 because they don’t portal in. It only counts on the clockwork ones.

Timberline has a nice concentration of events all in a small area. Top leftish of the map I think. Some of them start in confined areas where the mob aoe can really get you, but other than that, it’s very little running.

There just could be a participation threshold you must reach to receive credit for the achievement.

Same here, was going to get my tonic because Harathi Hinterlands was my 7th map (Blazeridge Steppes, DredgeHaunt Cliffs, Sparkfly Fen, Fireheart Rise, Frostgorge Sound, Timberline Falls, and now Harathi). I was in Harathi overflow before so not sure if that matters.
Edit: I got to the zone and participated in all three waves, including the molten alliance and aetherblades, and got credit for killing scarlet. No reason it shouldn’t have counted

I don’t think it is participation. I haven’t gotten credit for fireheart rise and I went in at the very beginning and fought the entire time.

I’ve done a total of 6 invasions, 3 last night, 3 tonight.

Maps last night were:

Blazeridge Steppes
Harathi Hinterlands
Iron Marches

I received credit for all 3 of those. None of these were overflows.

Received no credit for the 3 I did tonight, which were:

Gendaaran Foothills
Dredgehaunt Cliffs
Harathi Hinterlands

All 3 were overflows, and I received credit for none of them.

For all 6 events, I was there from the start, fully participated, and also killed Scarlet and got loot from her each time.

I realize that I repeated one of the maps, but I should have the Emissary Vorpp portal closer completed at least, but I’m stuck at 3/5 for 3 different achievements now.

C’mon Anet, fix this, some people have limited time and can’t keep repeating maps and hoping to get credit.

I entered the event when it started on the main server, went through the whole thing, and didn’t get credit (this was in Frostgorge Sound). A party member did get credit. The only thing of note was that I disconnected about 5 minutes in, but managed to get back into the main server.

I disconnected on 1 of 6 maps, tonight on Dredgehaunt Cliffs. I reconnected, was thrown in an empty overflow, but I was in a group so I moved back to their overflow.

Even if DC’ing caused me to not get credit for that zone, I didn’t DC in Gendaaran Fields and received no credit for any achievements there.

these ARE really fun, but please, i say no more super time-gated events for the sake of time-gated-ness and no more gimmicky ways of introducing or participating in events. just make them fun events and people will be happy. why add a mechanic that just messes with people? and don’t work? again, i know it’s only the first couple of days.. but i do hope these get fixed sooner than later.D

The only way I could get it to update was to log into a different character and do the events on it instead.

My first invasion, I did almost completely. No credit (this was Blazeridge). My second invasion, I entered about 5 minutes before the end. I did get credit… I did kill Scarlet on the first invasion, but not the second.

overflow works for me with the exception of blazerige. For me it seems blazeridge is teh problem. Can any dev help us here?

It’s especially time consuming since they only spawn once per hour… an if you happen to get unlucky (like I did last night), you’ll end up waiting upwards of 3 or more hours to get any sort of achievement.
Anyways, mine counted for blazeridge, fireheart, frostgorge, sparkfly, dredgehaunt, timberline, and now iron marches, but it didn’t count for Harathi. I d/c’d on Harathi, but got back into the original map (I started on original map) through a party.

I’ve done Mount Maelstrom twice now and both times it hasn’t registered for this achievement. I kept track of what maps I did right from the start so I’m 100% sure this is my last one.

The only time a zone didn’t count for me, was when I disconnected during the invasion, even though I managed to get back to the same zone instance by travelling to a partymember.

Same, this happened to me earlier, before the patch from today. I’m now waiting for the rotation to get back to Mount Maelstrom so I can finally complete this LS and get back to the core game (if they actually fixed it that is).

Edit I got it my second try; both tries were in an overflow to clarify and I never left the zone or got D/C’d.

When you get a disconnect in the middle of an event it does not count for the achievement.

Obviously the achievement cannot be successful if you leave the map at all. So do the maps again when they show up on which you got dced.

I’m stuck at 11/13

I’ve done every map at this point, and i’ve done 8 of them twice. I haven’t done frostgorge or fireheart again since I know they counted because I have the achieve for them. I still need to double check Iron Marches and Field of Ruin, but those are my last 2. I’ve never disconnected so that isn’t my problem. I’ve gotten credit by WP’ing around and by succeeding and failing so that isn’t my problem. It seems completely random to me.

I did the Mount Maelstrom event again, this time in the original map, no overflow, and I got my update.
Maybe that helps narrow the bug down.

(PS: To clarify, I did not have a disconnect, the first time i tried for the achievement update.)

And that is stupid. It may be a feasible workaround if it’s just a map or two and you get lucky, but that is not a solution. You should not lose out on all credit because Anet servers can’t handle full map loads of people running events with tons of mobs. Saying to “just do that map again when it shows up” is not a reasonable response or expectation. Some people have jobs, and limited time, and can’t just wait around waiting for the map that they need to complete to pop up again in the rotation.

i can confirm that when i did Blazeridge on Overflow, i got credit. start to finish.

the one that didn’t count for me was bloodtide coast. main map. i did it again when it came up several hours later and it counted, overflow.

so to me.. so far, it seems kind of random. unless if we gather more data i guess.

got DC-ed halfway through final wave too and luckily i was in a group. hopefully we hear some official word from ANet regarding DC’s and maps not counting credit. as well as bugged events on any given map, so far i’ve exprienced them on frostgorge, bloodtide. and then also come maps where mobs spawn on hills or places we can’t get to (like chilling 90’s on the face of a cliff) though so far, we’ve been able to range them down.
