80: Against The Corruption
Try moving a ways away from him, then back. There’s a rare bug where he’ll think no players are around even though you’re standing right next to him. I believe a fix is slated for the 9/24 update.
I’m having the same problem with this quest. Get to the cave mouth kill all the Risen then Trahearne just stands there doing nothing. Pull mobs to him he fights them then goes back to standing in front of the cave.

Tried it. Didn’t work this the second time I’ve had to restart this quest with the same result.
Well I found a “fix” at least for lvl 80 ranger with the elite form of the crow skill.
When you get to the first canyon, before the opening of the cave, burn everything you have to kill everything. This keeps the “team” alive.
Then wait until everything is off cooldown, particularly crow form.
Then focus everything you have, and I mean EVERYTHING on killing the champion. If you can get him dead, then even if you die you can keep coming back and finally clear the cave mouth. Then just walk back to trahearne and he’ll go into the cave and finish things. You still have to follow/kill, but if you can get that champ down, at least the story progresses.
I’d guess I spent 1g or more on repairs trying to find a way through this and I can’t imagine how badly this must suck if you don’t have a massive dps/hp boost like crow form.
This almost made me quit the game. I get “challenge” but this is just kitten stupid.
From my experience I had the same problem, but I found a fix. Like Jeffrey said, I moved back along the dirt road (a different route than the one I took to get to the cave) quite a distance, then moved towards Trahearne again and the quest continued.
I personally experienced a different bug with this story step; when the cleansing ritual was being worked, I was killing the first ‘wave’ of risen. I have a vit/toughness spec, so I don’t do a ton of damage, but before I had killed the first two waves, the cinematic started for Trea failing the ritual, which included the NPC (I forget his name) that comes back after the two guards are overrun, and yet he came back after I got to the appropriate wave, and they acted like he just got there.

Oh please please get it in. So frustrating not being able to finish the story after all these weeks, afraid of wasting more time on failed attempts. I look forward to seeing the update notes saying mission fixed!
Update: I just found and fixed a bug where Trahearne would stop at the entrance to the tomb (and not move) if Gretchen was killed or in combat when he reached it. Also in the 9/24 update.
was just about to make new post about this one but ill just post it here. Iinfo lvl 80 ele asura dormund priory. So I’m just starting out and boom we get ambushed and then my team just dies one by one. Now i could use metor storm but those dang npcs just pull of and zerg me and that’s not good esp since elementalists don’t have the best damage atm. Then the fight after is worse since that vetern abom and his crew come out of nowhere and wipe my team again and i can’t rez em since i cant solo 5 mobs. I think you see where I’m going here. That veteran has frenzy and hits hard that’s a bad combo.
I just tried this quest and unfortunately it’s still bugged. I couldn’t get Trahearne et al to move ahead into the tunnel to the tomb. We killed all the mobs in sight; I even pulled any extras standing around elsewhere to see if that’d trigger him .. but nothing. Then I went into the tunnel and killed everything up to the green star inside .. he still wouldn’t move. I tried moving back and forth even talking to him multiple times, but it made no difference. He’d say “Moving on” but then just stand in his spot and never budge. I did notice that there were two green stars … one over Trahearne and one inside the tomb area. I’m wondering if that could be part of the problem. The instance bugs out because two green stars become active simultaneously.
