Bad Blood - a quest that ruins the game
How about you watch your tone?
They created this game, so what if there are a few hard parts?
If you don’t have the capacity to get through them, tough kitten.
I absolutely love this game, and I look forward to difficult parts.
Ever play games like Legend of Zelda? kitten, puzzles are a HUGE part of the game, are you going to write Nintendo a letter about how kitten you are because you couldn’t solve something?
I really think people need to watch what they say to the Devs. They spent a lot of time and effort into this game. Hell, they’ve put more effort into one map then you’ve done in your life. Be respectful and thankful or go find another game to play, might I suggest Hello Kitty Online? That seems more your level.
I had no trouble with the jumping part at all.
I know what to do, I check the pattern of the wind and there I went.. 5 mins work!
It was clearly mentioned that you had to watch the flags so you could know when you had to run..

Stability did the trick for me…
But yeah, it needs to be clearer on how the wind mechanic actually works there. The flapping flags are not clear enough.
Do you even lift, bro?
I have completed this quest and I don’t even remember it because it was not all that hard. Watch the wind and keep your calm. Once you get frustrated things are only gonna get harder. Couple days back I completed the so called “impossible” jumping puzzle: skipping stones and you know what? It was hard but as I have played maplestory, I know how to deal with difficult jumping puzzles mentally. Take a break when you feel like screaming and try again after taking a short break. Games are supose to have challenges that take special focus and I love it.

And got paid for it. Players bought the game and have the right to voice their opinion of it. In fact, if I was a dev, I would appreciate feedback as I am sure ANet does, even when it comes in angry wrapping.

Pretty much this. My only complaint with OP is that they weren’t entirely calm when voicing their criticism. Criticism, especially the constructive kind, is absolutely needed for MMOs to survive. If any developer/designer just ignores any and all criticism and only accept blind praise, then the game will never really improve because the feedback will be meaningless. Now, straight up bashing (which was not present in the OP) is just as bad since nothing productive comes of it.
Those that question my “tone”, ability and temper really do miss the point:
I have PAID for this product. They want my money, I want a good product and if it’s not to my satisfaction , I have every right to complain in any which way until they fix it.
Not being able to complete an integral part of the game – within a reasonable amount of time – is like buying a car without an assembled engine. If you’re a car mechanic, fine, but not everyone is.
I have nothing against not everyone being able to complete every aspect of the game but not in the main parts such as World Exploration or My Story. These have to be simple enough for everyone to complete within a reasonable amount of time and this is where the developers have failed, miserably.
Jumping puzzles should not be in any of these. Make a “Jumping Puzzle Medal” for those that enjoy those and want something to show for it, but make it optional!
PS. Why are there no skill challenges in the game that require any degree of intelligence, inventiveness or exercise of logical thinking…
You have every right to complain, but not because you paid money. That comes from your right as a human with a voice.
You paid for GW2. What you experienced is part of the package that is GW2.
If one frustrating instance ruined the game for you, then tough tiddly winks.
You merely prove that you’re not worth ANet’s time. ANet is aiming for the sensible majority who won’t freak out because they had a tough time over one part of the game they didn’t understand.
There is nothing that says you should be able to do any event with a “reasonable amount of time”. That’s just a kittened up sense of self-entitlement you share with many others part of a childish vocal minority.

Just did it today and went through fine. Fell down once because I didn’t see where the flags were until they moved and I flew lol :P Second attempt paying attention worked perfectly fine. Take a break, and come back. I had to do that for the skipping stones JP Hicci mentioned due to the same thing. Failing helps you learn from mistakes, frustration throws all that you just learned down the toilet.
The wind doesn’t seem to gust for a long time. It appears to do just one burst when the flags twitch and that’s it. Just wait for the flag to move, and right after it comes down then you move. Maybe I got lucky, but it does appear to be… wait for it… working as intended. Heck, I died 3-4 times on the following spike traps (attempting to dodge-roll thru) due to being blind to the little steps on the walls XD. Just be patient and go to one wall at a time. Although I was playing it safe, I’d bet trying to skip a wall will probably mean instant death.
The only possible fix or improvement I can see here is to have the flags start moving a second or two before the gust hits as a warning, and go down just as it ends to show it’s safe again. As of now, they just flick on right when the gust hits from what I can tell so there’s no warning if you’re still running for a wall. Oh, and make them a brighter red or something more eye-catchy. Took me a while to spot them :/

The only hard part about that specific “quest” .. (mission) …
is figuring out how to get across between wind gusts.
Yeah … I got blown off a few times … but I still eventually made it across.
That was with my asuran elementalist.
San Twocut: Human Thief lvl 80
Djorn Wolfson: Norn Guardian lvl 80
Also if you follow the link posted above you’ll see that you have the option of letting yourself die and if you restart at the checkpoint it’s past the wind so you can avoid it if it’s too hard.
Everything is a Nemesis plot.

Above average troll. The USA judges give you a 7.
The trick to anything in the personal story is to make sure you have the equipment to handle anything. I’ve completed events for every order, each one has points just as difficult as the other. Yes you end up tackling an opponent a little more powerful if you do it at the recommended level with poor gear, learned that myself but I still made it through. The trick is to stick with it and adapt.
