(SPOILERS)Ok since my last one was a rant lets try this again. Ok I’m on my asuran ele lv 68 Dormund Priory personal quest where i have to escort Torn to plant the charge on the bone ship. Getting there is easy enough how ever, the next step is to defeat the undead in order for torn to plant the charges. The undead he means is a giant risen shark. Basically the shark charges you and that’s pretty much it one hit KO you enter downed state and try to recover. I have tried kitting it but he moves too fast. (There was a corrupted Quaggon champion where i was able to kite but he was slower) I haven’t tried grouping for it yet, but i think the end result would be the same. The bite plus the bleed does somewhere around 8k for a normal mob btw not a champion. i would appreciate a developer to please go back and take a look at that shark. My thanks goes out to Fildrigar on his post.

Yet another lousy designed quest…
1) easy way to the boat is swimming north along the perimiter border, avoiding all enemies.
2) I made it work by swimming to the surface after the shark ate me, where it would completely ignore me. When I was back to life I would dive down and quickly shackle it, then nuke it as much as possible, back to the surface and reapeat.
3) (SPOILERS) back on the island, I had success with staying in staff+earth and slowly killing the mobs – all helpers died though As per usual Glyph of Elementals helped loads.

Ok, good news and bad news.

Good news: I discovered that Tonn had no underwater weapons, so he wasn’t able to help at all. I also reduced the difficulty of the shark, and no longer have it make a beeline for the player.

Bad news: To account for scaling in multiplayer, I increased the number of sharks. (From 1 to 2-6 depending on the player count.) Now that Tonn is armed, though, and the sharks won’t attack the player immediately, I found it to be challenging but doable.

Slated for the 9/24 update.

Ninja, you’re in the Vigil Base and it’s telling you to take the Vigil portal to Fort Trinity. Zoom your map out much further and you’ll see the actual ‘true’ map marker telling you where the quest is located (in Orr).

If you’re part of the Vigil, you can take that portal to Fort Trinity by talking to the guard at the door. However, if you’re not Vigil, the portals are bugged and the gate guard won’t let you through.

I found more of the underwater combat to be less enjoyable than land combat for the most part. I just always seem to feel weaker underwater and I don’t know if it’s because they want us to feel that way because we are often fighting fish who live underwater and they want to make it more realistic. This story mission was definitely annoying and took me a few tries, but was not impossible as I did it a while back. Taking it slow and pulling carefully is the only way that worked for me and when it came time for the shark….I pretty much just kited, stunned, dodged, healed and did everything I could to avoid it while dealing damage. I was also a warrior who stacked toughness and had “tanky” skills which I’m sure made things easier compared to some caster who was running around as a glass cannon.

I got eaten by the shark 3 times. (Elementalist too) I think this problem also class related too as my warrior friend told me he had no problem at all. (Mean ele is too weak for god sake!)

I ended up get another warrior friend to attend, and beat the hell out of that shark. (The warrior almost died still!) Good to see it getting nerf!
