How Important is “Personal Story” to ArenaNet?
Will we see the “Personal Storyline” expand where we left off and allow us to make new choices? Will we see previous allies and enemies and encounter new threats and adventures?

To me, Personal Storyline was one of the most fun gameplay/storytelling aspect of an mmorpg I have ever played in my life. I love it and enjoy ever moment of it.

Soo much that I have made 5 characters, 1 of each race to lvl36.
My main Human Mesmer is lvl38 and I stopped doing personal stories at lvl33.
My personal goal is to get all 5 of my current characters to lvl60 Before I start doing my personal stories again.

All 4 of my other characters are lvl3 on their personal stories and will stay that way till i’m lvl60 and then im planning to level up doing purely Personal stories as I explore the world to the next marker doing events that pop up near by.

Once I reach 5 of my characters to lvl80 and completed my Personal Story, I am planning to buy 5 more character slots and make new choices to see a different branch. Repeat till finished. =) Why? Cause I enjoy it.

Now, I heard lots of players already got lvl80 and completed their “Personal Story”.
I would like to know if the developers are already working on expanding the senarios after the death of the DragonLord Zhaitan or if we will be waiting for it on the next ExpansionPack?

Hate to burst your bubble, but lvl 60 is about where all the stories combine into Trahearne’s Story aka the battle to take back Orr from Zhaitan. I hope you still love the personal story when you get to this point. Too much negativity here…

I would really like to know this as well, I really hope ArenaNet keeps a good focus on personal story in future updates, I would love to see the storyline expanded greatly as well as the home instance and some form of player and guild housing. I feel like they’re neglecting some of those fun roleplaying elements like interact-able chairs, more emotes, etc. One of my favorite things from, dare I say it, WoW was to just sit around a roleplay with friends :-)

I’d love to see more of the personal story, as long as it’s, well…good. I’ve got nothing against Trahearne, but this seems like a nice time to ditch him and get to OUR story.

I’m just hoping Anet comes up with something better than “go kill dragons”.

I dont have a problem with that. =) And yes I know about the negativity about that issue.

Which is why im looking forward to “Expanding Personal Stories”.

I heard a suggestion in another thread about the idea of making the Personal story less epic and more about small quest lines regarding small issues and friends and enemies you meet along the way. This could be the next Personal Story?

Since Personal Story is the closest thing to real “Quests”, but better with cutscenes and personal instances, they could expand on it in different ways. =) idk.

I played FFXI which had a good story but its never personal. Its about this NPC and such. But I still enjoyed it. So I wont mind repeating with 5 characters as long as the bigining to middle is different before the end.

Well I would like to know what ArenaNet is doing about it. =) I hope we get an official word letting us know something. At least letting us know if that is being worked on.

I concur. I’d like to see personal stories expanded. And I’d like to be able to see and interact with some of the old familiar faces from my characters’ past.

Me and all my friends in the game LOVE the PS. We run each other’s PS just to be able to do it again or to do different story lines. I really enjoy my character’s story in L1-60 as much as I love the events that make up 61+. I wish the rewards were better, or at least stop giving my character gathering tools as rewards, but other than that, wouldn’t change a thing. But MOST of all, I wish that one of the future expansions is more PS.

Question: In the spirit of fan campaigns of the past, what do we need to mail to the A.net offices to get the PS expanded??? Hmmm. I’m thinking apples…
