Favourite personal story mission?
Without spoiling anything, I’ll say that Claw Island was gut-wrenching; it has such a great narrative and really makes you feel like there will be winners and losers by the end. It looked epic and it felt epic.
My favorite part of my story was when my Charr Engineer was dealing with scrappers for the second half of the key for the treasure his father left for him to get. I had to protect them from ghost cows while they gathered artifacts for themselves. My response was absolutely hilarious when one of the scrappers replied to what they needed protection from.
“Cows. You’re afraid of cows.”
I really enjoyed my human ranger’s story (female street rat). Circus quests were ok. I think my favourites are the early Vigil quests or helping the skritt. Golem suit mission is hands down the best “tonic quest” in the game. Similar zone events are rather annoying because the tonics are so weak, I just want to get rid of them asap.
I liked the personal story so much I tried to level up faster and faster in order to continue. Next I’ll play my sylvari guardian to lvl 30 and then see how’s the story. I’m not sure if the high lvl quests are worth completing again, idk, the choices and quests weren’t interesting imo. But rewards were great. Final story quest reward was lackluster compared to GW1, though.

I played Charr Ash Legion in beta and overall, preferred that early storyline to some of the other race options. The difference is that you’re not treated as the all-conquering hero right from the start (Norn storylines are by far the worst for this). With the Charr it feels like there’s less stilted dialogue and more humour. I suspect the same will apply to Asura, but I haven’t played through much of those yet.
I enjoyed the Durmand priory quests up to 50 because they felt like they had some genuine continuity, and they also had a memorable NPC accompanying you on your quests.
I loved the part where I went back to the Pale Tree for guidance and she had no clue who I was.

You mean the part where my human character remembered being part of the dream?
I really disliked that we had to go to the Sylvari, and having them upstage all other races by getting the hero, the future seeing uber powerful tree and the magical superweapon.
Lame.
Best part was the second to last mission (80). Reminded me of Zelda.
Level 51 Durmond Priory mission. SMASH! Carnage unlimited. It made little sense to me, but I got to kill many, many foes that day with epic style.
