Forging the pact still bugged

Where exactly is it stalling? If you’ve looked at the other threads on the subject, it’s been noted that it’s an extremely difficult bug to track down, so there are additional changes in the 10/1 update, in addition to the ones on 9/24 to catch the most common issue.
I am having problems too.
I am in the cave…the quest log says " escort the researchers to the southern exit with Trahearne.."
I have cleaned from the monster the cavern, I am standing on the green star in front of some sort of a gate..some sort of roots I guess..and nothing happens..
I went outside the cave..killed all the monsters respowned there and nothing happen…
..is it bugged or am I missing somenthing?

I had an issue with this story section earlier today. My issue occurred when trying to escort researchers out of the cave. The researchers all seemed “tied” to a particular spot in the back of the cave. They would follow me for a short time and then would leave me and return to the back upon reaching half way to the front.

Many of us have the problem of the NPC`s (except Trahearne) not following us, when we should escape the cave. “Escort the researchers to the southern exit with Trahearne” is the step I`m talking about. There are also screenshots attached in this other thread showing the spot where the NPCs don`t wan`t to move away from.

Edit: I attempted to do this quest again. The NPCs didn`t follow me and Trahearne after “Escort the researchers to the southern exit with Trahearne” step triggered. But when I took a closer look at the map I noticed an Ally Follower far away from us. Krew Leder Dobbs didn`t follow us into the cave, he stayed at the little house where we previously had fought the waves of undead. I went back for him, but he wouldn`t follow me. I restarted the quest, this time Dobbs managed to follow us from the house to the cave and when it came to a point that we had to escape it every NPC followed me and Trahearne. Successfully finished the quest this time.

It’s not stalling. I submitted a detailed report earlier, but apparently a mod decided to remove it. I think your mods need better training.
I also submitted a detailed report in game with screenshots.
Basically, a whole pack of risen brutes (5-6?) spawn in the air at the last step (after Trahearne has summoned the necro minions). Trahearne teleports up there to duel them, but they are invincible, so he dies.
None of the other NPCS can damage them, and when you try to damage them they are invulnerable.
So you are trapped in combat with a whole pack of invulnerable NPC"s you cannot damage with ranged combat, and that cannot be reached via melee combat.
the NPCs with me were attacking them, just not doing any damage.

I noticed this same issue. Can you tell me if you did anything different to make Dobbs follow you? That seems to be where my quest seems to be breaking too.
I am having the same problem. The waypoint star moves to the right part, but the circle stayed at the cave entrance until I ran BACK to it after clearing the cave. Then it moved to the next location in the northwest of the cave (almost due north of the exit) and stuck there while some NPC’s got stuck — Namely Crusader Afanen, Explorer Hekja, Kekt and Scholar Inkblood and the drake pet Amphebe. Screenshot is attached, showing where the NPC’s froze, as well as the minimap showing where the circle is, as well as the waypoint.
I had a problem with it on Wednesday where I was able to lead the group down to the green star at the end of the (blocked) south exit, and it just stalled there.
I’ve had a problem 2 times in a row where I’m supposed to escort the NPCs out of the southern cave exit, but they refuse to follow me. Right now the instance is uncompletable for me.
I’m having the bug right now… I’m stuck at the same point mentioned by everyone else. I’m supposed to be escorting the second research team to the southern exit of the cave. Trahearne follows me, a few other NPCs will come a short way and stop, and the rest of the team just stays where I found them originally, next to the open chests, and never moves. I’ve cleared out all the undead between their camp and the exit (which is blocked by roots). Here’s some screenshots of what I’m seeing, notice the minimap showing where the team is located in relation to the exit. They are fixed in those positions and do not move.
EDIT: I did the “forging the pact” story again, and this time it did not stall. I think I did something slightly different this time, which might provide a clue. When I reached the large, circular column in the cave, which sort of presents a fork where you can go left or right, and you hear a researcher say, “Hey! Over here! Help!”
Upon hearing that, I’m sure the intention is for the player to go up to the right and fight the Savage Undead Abomination and meet the camped researchers. The first time I did it, I was in the midst of fighting something, and I went around to the left instead. I killed a few mobs before I went up to the camp and fought the Savage Undead Abomination. I’m sure the mobs around to the left were probably supposed to be killed AFTER I had the whole team with me and was heading for the south exit.
The second time, immediately when I heard the team shout for help, I went up to the right and killed the SUA. This time the quest worked fine…we all went together down to the south and the rest finished correctly.
So, is it possible that killing some mobs out of order at that point (not immediately going to help the researchers and instead killing some mobs intended for the next stage) could be causing the event to stall? Once you’ve talked to them and the “escort the researchers to the south exit” leg begins, is the game looking for those mobs on the way and not finding them? Just a possibility.

bugged for me also, bug report logged
Bug report sent in. I got all the way to the end (‘Talk to Trahearne’, but he was nowhere to be found. I’m getting discouraged…
Also having the problem with NPCs refusing to follow to the cave exit. Very frustrated with it since this is the 4th time trying to do the mission. Bug report sent.
Same issue. bug sent.
I finally got through Forging the Pact on my 5th attempt. What I noticed that was different this time is that Trahearne had dialogue when we got to the first group of researchers, which he had never said before on any of my previous attempts. This suggests the problem might lie with Trahearne’s and other NPCs’ dialogue scripting, and can be used as an indicator of potential future problems when doing the mission — i.e. if he doesn’t give a little speech when you get to the lab at the top of the hill and defend the researchers there, you may as well not continue into the cave because it’s going to get blocked.
The only thing I can think of that I did differently was to (a) fight my way all the way to the researchers rather than running partway through the mission to speed things up, and (b) don’t rush ahead when you get to the barricades on the hill, but try to kill anything coming up the hill before you go talk to the researchers.
In general, you can’t rush through ANYTHING in this mission or the dialogue will get messed up, but must go slowly. (In contrast to many other personal story missions where it seems rushing through and ignoring monsters is the only way to get anything done, due to endless respawns. Ironically this mission has endless respawns too, so you’d best bring have enough firepower to kill stuff reasonably quickly.)
I filed a bug report the first time around; hadn’t thought to check the forums. At any rate, on the third try, I went super-slow. Some dialogue hadn’t triggered the first two times, it seems. Whatever the bug is, it seems to revolve around certain characters saying something before progression happens.
