Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone im am new to guild wars and im really want to start playing already.
Downloading at a slow 500kb/s barely at 15% ; im not patient >_<

So i dont really play alot of mmos since i own a mac but Guild Wars 2 to looks Awesome so ive decided to see how good it is. Im planning on being an Asura Elementalist because they look cool.

I hope i have a good time playing and making some awesome friends along the way as soon as i finish downloading the game.

welcome to guild wars 2! i hope you have fun too. i recommend digging around pre-GW2 lore meanwhile to pass the time, if you’re into story. watching some PvP videos, if you’re into the combat. lurk the forums, if you like chatting, and so on.

If you don’t play MMOs that much, you may want to try out a less squishy profession first, in the medium/heavy armor range.

What above poster said. Elementalists are considered one of the hardest classes to play, so unless you’re up for a gameplay challenge, you might want to consider playing something else first.

“Ele’s” are a fairly nuanced class to play. They have elemental atunements, are cloth armor-wearers, and have among the lowest health pools in the game. Unlike other “finger-waggler” classes in other games, you typically don’t have the luxury to sit back in the distance and rain down hell from afar. You’ll constantly be moving, changing atunements and weapons, one moment you’ll be nuking, the next healing, and the next boon/condition management. It’s a very reactive class to play, and among the more difficult to play well.

I don’t want to dissuade you if this is what you have your heart set on. But just go into it knowing you’ve got a pretty steep learning curve ahead of you, relatively speaking.

Ele’s are awesome to play! The learning curve isn’t that bad, but you will probably have to dodge the most out of all the classes so get ready for that. Deffo don’t unbind double tap to dodge as most people suggest you do, as if you can’t control where you roll as an elementalist then you’re going to end up full of holes.
