Hello Guys!
Recently I was wondering how the choices that we make during the character creation affect our gameplay. The very first two questions don’t matter that much (cause we have an influence on what pet we use later in the game – same with personality) but then we have three questions that depend on the race we’ve choosen earlier. The first one of those three affects the storyline from the very first level to level 10. And my question is: how the other two questions affect the game? I’m talking about the question with “What we’ve done at a recent celebratory…” and “Which Spirit of the Wild gave us his blessing…”. I usually play as a ranger and before I create one in GW2 I want to konw if the decisions I make in creating my storyline will make me a better ranger or a less effective one.

Let me know what do You think about it

The question about the moot affects the level 11-20 storyline. I chose blacked out, and if you can survive it without restarting as a level 11-20 ranger, you have learned your profession well. However, I hear the others are brutal, as well.

The Spirit of the Wild question seems to not matter any more than the Human god, Asura mentor or Sylvari cycle questions (all Charr questions matter, oddly enough). They may matter some time in the future.

Thanks, but I’m still not sure of what am I going to pick – a Bear, Wolf or Snow Leopard’s blessing (I suppose Raven’s blessing is the most accurate for casters). I guess I have to decide on one and just live with that choice Oh, and one more thing: If I wont to take a form of a Bear in the future do I have to pick a Bear’s blessing as the anwser for the last question in the char. creation or It doesn’t matter and elite skills (transformations)are available for every norn?

There are no game mechanic effects. All racial skills are available to all characters of that race. The spirit’s philosophies don’t necessarily reflect a profession. For combat, wolf represents teamwork, bear personal fortitude and self-reliance, raven cleverness and deception and snow leopard fighting dirty. I would say this reflects more choices in personal story later. Often you will be asked to choose a direct fight or sneaking and striking from behind (bear or wolf v. raven or leopard), or to recruit a lone legendary warrior or a Charr warband (bear or leopard v wolf or raven). That said, you make whatever choice you like.

Thanks, that really helped me out, cuz I was worried I’d screw up my character only by choosing “wrong” anwsers. At first I thought these questions were designed to help rangers (e.g. by picking snow leopard) or warriors (e.g. by picking bear) boost ther attributes. And actually I’m glad they don’t cause It’d probably make me delete some characters I already made and remake them properly. I’m just that kind of person – everything has to be done right! Anyway thank You once again for the quick anwsers!
