Personal Story Let down...

The non-personal story has been eating me up for a while. I totally was hooked during the beta events and the part of the story we got to play was pretty decent. That is where it ended for me…

Why do we join an order exactly? I understand the need to flesh out the story behind each order, but I was expecting something more along the lines of the original GW story arc. You could have accomplished the same results without the player joining an order.

Why not have the player go on missions for each order? In the original game, we assisted, Deldrimor, Ascalon, Kryta, Sunspears, etc. That should have been easy to pull off with so much to lore to draw from. The personal story could have been something like, the Vigil needs help with “XYZ” can you lend a hand? Then could have shifted between the other orders easily fleshing out history and story for each group. The player could have been able to choose whom they helped and when. No need to join an order to pull this off. Again, it just felt like the wind was let out of my sails after the opening parts of the personal story were concluded, progressively getting worse as it went along.

It feels as though A-Net got lazy/pressed for time by NC$oft/whatever, it just wasn’t good in my opinion.

The lore is the major attachment I myself, have to this game. While I can’t speak for everyone, I would think there were more than just myself that like these games for the story.

I’m giving a pass personally for now, I’ll wait to see how the continuation of the personal story unfolds in coming releases.
