Personal Story about me? Seriously?
That doesn’t sound fun but without naming you a “noob” are you using your traits and skills? Do you have good armor stats with vitality etc?
I will attest to the difficulty of the storylines needing to be adjusted for solo level but the dungeon difficulties are just right in my opinion. Perfect for testing teamwork and your own skills, they really are about learning to play your class and sometimes that is nice
I died about 3-4 times on that one before just grabbing a party for all those destroyers, The manor dungeon though I think so far we have only wiped once through the story version of it. When you consider that, it is obvious a solo story should be a little bit easier.
I think it would be okay if the rewards for dungeons would be better, and maybe the design could be a little better, meaning without that stupid run in and get slaughtered until you get it done issue. Having a challenging personal story would also be okay, but it is far too often so hard that it is just frustrating. Lets face it, that was just not tested enough.
In reply… YES, I am using my skills and Traits. Maybe I am just a terrible player
Also, I am using Toughness/Vitality armour.
Kiyode,
I helped a friend through that storyline and I will gladly help you through it too. With my help trust me on this it will be a quick and easy clean up.
My friend was getting destroyed by it and was just as frustrated with it as you are, however with my help it was a cakewalk. Yes the first dungeon is a wake up call. My small guild had a semi tough time through it but the second time it was much cleaner.
Kiyode if you need help my chars name is Invictus and I am on Isle of Janthir but will be happy to visit and help.
I only had one story line that gave me trouble it was fighting the Son of Svanir. I ended up doing it naked from all my deaths but I got it done. Other than that I got through them all until the last one where you have to group to get through
there is a few personal story missions that are quite over-tuned, that destroyer queen is one of them, that took me a bit to do with Mesmer (but it is possible, i did only die once on that) there is some early Norn ones that are even tougher imo.

Have you played since the update? The queen is L47 now, and the destroyer spawns have been slowed down.
Ah sounds like it was rebalanced then nice to hear things getting balanced so quickly
I actually played through this a few hours ago, and it was a tough fight. Like many other fights in personal storylines, any allied NPC’s are going to stand in the AoE and get killed, leaving you facing these veteran-champion mobs solo. NPC allies are far too fragile and weak to be of any assistance. (Especially Sierin- she doesn’t attack half the time, and when she does, she gets flattened by AoE.)
I’ve started to think of NPC allies as mere decorations. If they were intended to be of use in fights, they need some buffs to their durability and judgement. They stand there, not attacking, while getting set on fire. Again, Seiran is the worst of these, the Vigil warmaster actually knew how to fight back mostly, but the skritt? dead. Hylek allies? Dead. Any NPC ally on a fight with any AoE? dead.
Ah I see your problem. Do you have +healing to go with your high Vitality? When it comes to close combat high toughness is something you should focus on first since it what will allow you to survive close combat in the game. Having High Vitality without having high Healing can cause issues such as not healing a good amount of your percent HP back because of your High Vitality.
I’m amazed that you had a hard time with the queen after clearing the trash. The trash was such a nightmare for me that when I finally got them all down I thought “Oh god I will never be able to fight her” and then she died in seconds with zero problem.
