As the topic title suggests, the personal story of every character should be replayable, in my honest opinion.

I’ve enjoyed the personal story really much up to the part where you get to Orr, then it just gets boring and unlikable, but that isn’t the point here. The point is, the beginning of a players personal story is epic (depends on the character). I personally made a human warrior, took the “street rat” and unknown parents arch, and I found it most amusing. To think that my character was a gang boss at the beginning of the game, and then later rises to become a hero is pretty much a good setting, not to mention the part where it is mentioned that your parents were (SPOILER ALERT) actually Shining Blade agents. It all adds up to the drama, and I loved it.

Also, the part with Tybalt and the Order of Whispers is one of the mokittennniest moments I have come to witness in this game. I have come to like Tybalt, more than any other character in the game, so it was a pretty big shame for me when I had to see him go, knowing that I’ll never see him or hear his “apple” jokes again.

The part in the OoW where you get to choose which race will you help deal with their threats (heket, skritt, quaggan) was also one of the most memorable parts of my GW2 gaming experience. The skritt are so kitten funny as a race, and I would love to play that part of the story again.

So why in the seven hells isn’t there an option to replay the personal story? Is that so complicated to make? And I’m not trying to be provocative, I’m just asking :O

We already have a hero panel where our personal story is written down for us. Sure, we can read it, yeah, but wouldn’t it be much better if we could just get a nice, little “replay mission” button on the bottom of the hero panel so we can replay the missions and parts of the story which we love and miss? It doesn’t even have to affect your story, for example: you can’t change your choices in the game, the choices and the story you already made can not be altered in any way, it would simply give you the option to REPLAY the story, just like in the original GW.

Also, I know that this isn’t the thread for it, but the Living Story content should be replayable too. I would love to meet Braham and experience his part of the story very much, but considering the way things are right now, it’s simply impossible. It would be nice, though, if we could approach Braham and, by simply talking to him, be offered an option to “replay” the living story through flashbacks or something.
For example, we approach Braham, talk to him, get the option to replay, and the game would take us to our own personal instance of the world BEFORE the events of the Living Story so those of us who didn’t play or want to replay it, can experience it.

In short, that’s that, let me know what you think.

I second this, I had mentioned something in the suggestions forum, a historical instance access system which would allow you to replay any instanced section like personal stories or living story dungeon.

I agree with you, I loved some of the earlier personal story sections, combined with areas like the F&F dungeon means there are plenty of instances I would love to be able to repeat.

BOOM

Maybe when Eye of the North becomes uncovered, then the Scrying Pool may help with that.

I’d love to replay my Asura’s final Infinity Ball quest as well as a very special (gigglesnort) quest involving Tybalt :P

Maybe when Eye of the North becomes uncovered, then the Scrying Pool may help with that.

Any GW2 player with a linked GW account including EotN may visit the site where the Scrying Pool was found with a Hall of Monuments Portal Stone. The Eye of the North is now a ruin, and there is no way to interact with the Scrying Pool. The pool has flooded the Hall of Monuments chamber.

It would be neat to add an option in the journal to replay the story chapters as a feature, but it would probably require significant changes. Replaying story chapters would need to function differently. I’d rather see a button in the journal for replays instead of an NPC or location requirement.

In regards to the LS content, I agree there. I don’t think the dungeon instances should be made available again, but I’d like to rewatch some of the cutscenes/play the solo instances.

I liked how the City of Heroes MMO handled this: they had a time travel zone that allowed you to relive past events and you could accept special restrictions to get extra titles.

The equivalent here might be the ability to do sets of Personal Story (e.g., 11-20 quest line) with options:
No major traits (Amateur Achievement)
With your armor and weapons temporarily converted to white without runes or sigils (Simple Equipment Achievement)
All enemies have 10 stacks of might and Protection boons that renew every 30 seconds and are 2 levels higher (Mighty Foes Achievement)
You have 10 stacks of vulnerability that renew every 8 seconds and reduced toughness and vitality (Soak It Up Achievement)
