Personal quest "dead of winter" way too hard.
What profession are you? Level? What weapon are you using? How does your gear (weapon and armor) compare to your level? When you don’t list what you’re using, but say you can’t change them, it makes it difficult to give pointers.
Ok im level 39 sylvari elementalist. Im trained 10 pts in arcana and 10 in umm air and 4 fire and 5 water.
I have the lvl 35 cultural armor. Umm snapdragon stuff. I have 2 daggers lvl 35 honed bandit shiv of accuracy and lvl 35 strong bandit shiv of accuracy.
I cant afford to buy gear every other level . Only way i know to get gold is to harvest mats for crafting and sell them, but you level so fast doing that i cant farm fast enough to keep up. I want to play the game… not farm crap to level.

i looked up what quest this was… I remember doing it some time back, and i feel it could be toned down where the abomination is. You must play an absolute flawless game in that little room, or you’re dead. The NPCs are of little to no use because they get buffaloed by the abom and get killed right after. Dodging is of limited value, too, as there’s still many risen out after the NPC helpers died, and they have near 100% uptime on you because of their speed. And regarless of class, they hit pretty hard. It took me quite a number of tries to get through it – it was a most unpleasant experience after several unsuccessful attempts. The rest of the scenario was fine; it’s just that small room with the abomination that was most frustrating, indeed.
Perhaps lowering their level (and that way, their HP) would be sufficient? Or maybe you can lower just their HP… But the abomination really needs a nerf or something. I don’t know if you can remove that particular abomination’s charge move, but that alone would help things along quite a bit, i think.
Is it the abomination specifically that’s causing problems? I agree that it could stand to be toned down, I found it hard to avoid its attacks in such a small area (especially with the traps cutting off the hallway.)
EDIT:
I’ve made some minor adjustments to go into a future update. (Though, as always, I can’t give an ETA.)
- Reduced power and health of the abomination a bit
- The friendly ghosts will now kneel, heal after a short while, then re-enter combat if they are defeated (so you don’t have to revive Bragen)
- Cleaned up the team assignments a bit so the friendly NPCs should reliably enter combat with you

That should probably help things out. And yes, i found the abom to be the most troublesome, as you mentioned, it’s a cramped up space to try to dodge around in. Thanks for checking this out.
