What happened to QA here? Were the quest chains setup and then character designs shuffled around to the point where we are now, with broken difficulty everywhere? It looks like there was the dropping of a very large ball somewhere in the design work, as players are now beta testing the resulting mess. I’m not particularly happy with said mess either.

Beta testers could only go as far as their lv19 story, everything after that was up to internal testing and QA. Judging by reaction to story difficulty/Trahearne, they probably were not as thorough as the beta testers were.

edit: completing the personal story up to lv72(or joining someone’s story isntance at that quest) is necesarry to actually getting 100% map completion for the Straits of Devestation, as a PoI is placed in an area only accessed during the lv71-72 story quest. It’s accessible with tricky jumping, but not a lot of players know that.

That makes sense. I enjoyed the early missions when I played both the BWEs and on actual Launch. Around the time you choose an Order to join is when things really started to fall apart – characters coming and going out of nowhere, oddly difficult segments, characters dying that you were supposed to care about but have no idea who they were, lots of bugs, etc.

I really wish more testing was done.

I agree, the story was good till Trahearne took over your storyline. Then is was a bland story the rest of the way.

Can we even mention Arah story mode?
I’m sorry but the almighty Zhaitan, a being that (forgive me if I’m wrong) is responsible for throwing the GODS out of Tyria. Can be defeated by spamming the number 2 on your keyboard.
You don’t even have to aim. Just sit and mash your fist on 2.

And secondly. GW1 Factions ending was fricking amazing. It was jaw droppingly epic as you strolled through the cheering streets of an ENTIRE CITY.
All you get in Arah is like a dozen people that you don’t really know clapping and firing like some little sparkly fireworks. Which I might point out probably should have been used against Zhaitan.

I believe in a cutscene it says, “Tyria is in your debt” before you receive a lousy 20s and a crappy bit of ugly generic armour.
As for the exp. Everyone was lvl80 anyway. Oh Gee-Wiz 4 bars of a single lvl really satisfies the need.

If Tyria is in my bloody debt I expect a pot of gold and a fecking Tardis + Time Lord butler.

Anyway thats my view on it if anyone cares.
