I’m not really sure if this is a bug, but basically this quest requires you to eliminate the various ascalon ghosts along the way and pick up this item called the ‘Ghost Torch’ which is guarded by 3 veteran ascalon ghosts. This is a level 6 personal story line quest.

I’ve eliminated all the ghosts except the 3 remaining veteran ascalon ghosts (no matter how much I stun them with the Ghostbore Musket gun, or inflict damage on them, their hp bar doesn’t seem to decrease; also targeted the ‘healer’ of the group, doesn’t work), enlisted the help of Rytlock Brimstone because my ally (Clawspur) died IN the aggro region of these 3 ghosts (so I can’t exactly revive him, and it is pointless to since he’ll get killed almost immediately after revival – he doesn’t run away with me, he continues attacking till he dies).

When I go near the Ghost Torch, click on it and and spam F (the interactive key), there would be no response and after mashing the F key a billion times, my character would say something along the lines of having forgotten her orders. By that time, I’m already close to dead so I’d run away (I’m not going to risk dying a few 100 times to have my armor broke and still have no success). I’ve gone back to talk to every single one of the NPCs available in this instance/quest but they don’t indicate anything of use.

There’s no indication that I’m supposed to kill the veteran ghosts before taking the torch, because if so, this is impossible since their hp does not decrease. If I’m allowed to take the torch without having to kill the 3 veteran ghosts, then why can I not interact with it?

Am I doing something wrong, and being too quick to jump to the conclusion that it is bugged? I’ve repeated this for around 10 times already, would be good to get some guidance here. I’ve searched and haven’t found anyone with this problem on the forums, so I’m assuming it’s just me…

Ya the Sword doesn’t turn ghostly at Night time as well but the Greatsword still turns into a Ghost sword at night.

You need to kill everything, then at the end you decide to take the Torch as a reward.

Rytlock and your Warband should help you, and it should be straight-foward.

But personal story quests are hard. Mobs hit harder and take more hits to kill. It’s a challenge. Usually, you should be a higher level (and down-leveled) to do the quests solo, until you get the hang of it. You have better stats that way.

Also, bringing a friend makes it easier. They seem to encourage bringing a friend. BUT, be warned there was an old (but fixed) bug that makes the Order choice later glitch if you are with anyone else. Even though it is fixed, I suggest later, when you do the Order choice, you do it solo.
