There doesn’t seem to be a specific subforum for character creation, but since it’s technically the very first part of the Personal Story, here goes.

I recall from videos of the early demos at Gamescom and the like that there were several hairstyles that are not in the game currently. For instance, for my norn female guardian I stylistically try to set her up to look like a valkyrie, and I remember that there was definitely a hairstyle that had a winged circlet as the accessory in character creation, which is no longer in the game and hasn’t been since any of the BWEs. I know there are other hairstyles that were also removed. I’m wondering if these hairstyles will ever make it back in to the game, and am perplexed as to why they were taken out in the first place unless they were causing some major clipping issues (though the hide-helmet option is always there). When you pick Norn then female in character creation the generic norn female portrait even has a winged circlet…

Are you sure it was a hairstyle, and not a head accessory the character was wearing? Hairstyles don’t normally add accessories from what I’ve seen.

Um, hairstyles do add accessories. That’s why there’s a separate area for selecting the color of your hair accessory below where you select your hair color – they come as part and parcel of the hairstyle, you can’t mix and match them.

I suspect many hairstyles are deliberately being held back in order to be added again whenever a barber/character re-customisation option arrives. A shame, really…judging by the hype and marketing surrounding the game I was led to believe we’d be seeing new options every month considering this is heavily based around cosmetic improvements at the end game.
