Sound of Psi-Lance
I did this one earlier today on my elementalist. Honestly the first part, actually getting into the mine, was harder than the second. Once I got the turret I was able to essentially one shot everything that came out at me.
Not sure why its not working for you, but the thing was a one-shot every time for me.
I did it solo as an engineer very easily.
Guess it depends on class.
Solo this earlier with my elementalist. Actually burned down the first 2 mobs before I realized I could use the thing because the NPC said “fire” and when you say that I think “burning death for everyone”.
One of the issue with the in that mission is that the Sonic Harmonizer is really hard to aim if you have to hit something up close. Two other things to consider is that the Sonic Harmonizer is relatively slow so you have to lead the target but the suits sometime stop so your lead can’t be too far ahead. The second thing is that the hit from the Sonic Harmonizer also stun/knockdown so you can use it to deal with more than one group at a time.
For me each hit from the Sonic Harmonizer took around half the health of the mining suits.
Yeah, that thing did hardly any damage. I figured out after I fired it the first time that it is slow, and I adjusted for that. But even when I nailed it, I could see they were only taking 58 damage from it which was only a few pixels on their health bar. I was able to aim and fire 3 times with two direct hits before they reached the npcs. Sounds like that’s unusual for this mission.
It doesn’t do much damage… unless you hit the enemies directly. It does a slight stun/knock-back to all the foes in the target area, but a TON of damage to enemies it hits directly. Those transports only took 2 direct hits a piece to kill when I did it yesterday.
The trick is to aim at (or even behind) the enemy you are trying to kill and fire as fast as you can. As it hits using LOS and not the target, you need to aim at the mobs bodies and not the ground.
Belian, thank you! That was the most helpful advice I’ve gotten. Wiped them out no problem!
I, too. Thank you, Belian. Was the first time I died enough times to be nekkid! O.o Then I read this and saw that it wasn’t a ground targeting ring, but a direct aim at a single NPC ability, and I did it! One go (Ranger). Whew! Thank you a gamillion times — I’m just stubborn enough to have kept on trying and dying… <Hugs!!>
Thank you Belian! I was getting rather frustrated until I read your post!
