I appreciate the efforts made in regards to our characters stories and the extra dimensions it gives to the game but… Does anyone else just say “no. No that is not who my character is and their story doesn’t go like that”?
Because for me anyway… I put a lot of myself in to my characters in any game where customization is an option and the story behind my character ain’t nothin’ like what the game thinks it is, lol.

My characters story goes a little more like;
Her mother, 8months pregnant, was captured by the centaur and held prisoner in a lowland camp. Starved and tortured, suffering immense sleep deprivation and bodily sores from the rotting ground beneath, she clung to life for 20 days before her child was due. On that day a second prisoner was placed in her cage who was instantly empathetic of the woman. Offering to help her despite his wounds he delivered the child and held the woman’s hand until she passed into unconsciousness. Pouring rain, knee deep in waste and wet soil the woman drown in the earth never to see her child’s face. Knowing the likely-hood of survival was slim the man took it upon himself to save the child at all costs. Calling to the centaur that his cellmate had deceased he concealed the child and prepared to make an escape. As a guard approached and opened the cage to remove the woman he leapt forward and ran for all he was worth. Narrowly escaping the camp and suffering massive injury from the half dozen arrows he had taken in his back he immediately began searching for help but found his efforts to be fruitless. Succumbing to his wounds at a shallow stream on the outskirts of Queensdale the child was left half soaked in blood and water for nearly 18 hours before she was found by a bandit. Examining the child and the man that lay next to her she chose instead to care for the infant rather than leave it to die. Raised among a vicious clan of thieves and trained in the art of shadows from a young age it wasn’t long before she became a recognized criminal.
At only the age of 17 she had succeeded in infiltrating the castle on multiple occasions, stolen royal possessions and had created her own small organization of thieves known as the Suicides.

And blah blah blah I won’t continue because most people won’t care anyway. But to conclude she eventually discovered that her father was one of the men within her organization and was shortly after murdered by a fellow thief. Stricken with grief she attempted to take her own life at the edge of Gods Lost Swamp and was saved by a passing Sylvari. Taken to the Grove to have her wounds mended she spent nearly 6 months under the care of this stranger as she recovered. Learning to enjoy the kind nature of the people and the gentle atmosphere she made a new home among their kind. Reinventing herself to be less spiteful and instead training young warriors within the community she eventually found love with the sylvari that had saved her. And they lived happily ever after! Lol.
The end.

If anyone else has a story to share about their character(s) please share. I’m a sucker for that kind of kitten and I would love to hear what other people have come up with… And also pray to god I’m not the only person geeky enough to do this <__<

I really like that bio you created for your character. And yeah, the ‘make some choices that don’t affect anything’ options in the PS make it not-so-worthwhile, in my opinion…

Most of my characters don’t really have a background (yet), I really have to sit down for that sometime but all my characters do have certain characteristics, and I mold the PS around those characteristics. for instance; I have a Norn Guardian who’s very honarable and by-the-book, so when I’m faced with a choice in the PS I would make a choice based on those characteristics. Same goes for the order I choose for my characters. My Norn eventually chose the Vigil because I think they are the most honorable and by-the-book.

Agree with Saint that the PS is very blah.
