How did he actually die? – I liked him very much even with my hate for the Asura race, I was a little heart broken when that she-devil lady said he died in her cruel manner and no sympathy.

Did he get caught in the explosion or did the unrisen get him?

Both.

I think Tonns only reason to exist was to give the story a shock moment and backfired.

I would have liked him to stick around a bit longer, he had so much potential. :{

His death was hilarious I thought, I saw it coming from MILES away, and the moment he said he had to stay behind, I knew he was toast. What made it even more funny though was that the people around the detonator were complaining and whining about how our position was being overrun, but we were holding them off just fine. Despite that, they blew it up, knowing that it would probably kill the guy.

The follow-up, when you had to tell his wife what happened to him, was probably the most unintentionally funny quest in the game. My friend and I were laughing the entire time we were doing that one. The story certainly isn’t this game’s strong point, haha.

I actually really did like him though, and I do wish they had subverted my expectations and had him live, because I really enjoyed him a LOT more than I will ever enjoy having Trahearne around.

I hate Trahearne, ANet should give the option to kill him and Anise or the angel thing you meet when going to under water in that puzzle thing (for her name) should take over, both would have been better then Trahearne >.<! – As for that detonation bit, none of the mobs got 3 steps out of the water, ANet should have made them swarm you but made it so you didn’t die, like a priory was healing you constantly.

Personally they should have waited for him to get back, I would have.
The wife bit was a tad done badly. A) Why would you just leave her She asks for help and keeps running when the unrisen start spawning.

I did like Tonn though, My favorites always get killed and the people I hate stay alive.

I noticed that for some reason ANet decides to murder whichever character you like or start liking.

The moment Tonn decided to swim back to the ship I KNEW he was going to die. It annoyed me how obvious that was. I don’t get why I couldn’t have offered to go myself instead considering I was better geared and armed.

Telling Tonn’s wife/widow about his demise did make me a bit sad though. But then I got annoyed by the fact that there was no follow up quest with her – I made her upset so I wanted to talk to her more but NOPE, that’s the last you see of her. -.-

His death made no sense he was miles away and there was no around yet he has gets killed.
