Too hard Champion.
I second this. I’m suprised no one had similar experiences. Didn’t fail because the way to beat it is simply to wipe, run back, get in a few hits, wipe again, run back, rinse repeat. Every time you wipe and res @ start a ranger NPC will res and help you dps. Sometimes the other NPCs miraculously come back to life too.
All in all this makes it very tedious… Thread title should be changed maybe to “Risen Spiderlord Too hard” or “Stealing light mission too hard” to be more accurate and draw attention to this thread.
In summary: not impossible to do on first try even… just extremely tedious… Anet if possible please fix those locusts that 3 hit KO you (even as a guardian haha)
I can’t kill Admiral Feiste Bakkir. He killed all the NPCs and with about 5% HP left it was just impossible to kill him with all the swarms and everything else. Did anyone managed to solo this one? It is part of Critical Blow story.

Haha nope.
I’ve gotten close but on a non-heavy armor class, it’s just not happening. Nevermind I had two attempts that would have succeeded had the stupid NPCs not RUSHED to engage him before I’d finished reviving them all.
Complete BS.
Forever known as “that slow guardian who can’t jump worth crap”.

Every time my necro died I was put right back at the start point, and long before I could get back to the guy he was back up at full health. All that retrying achieved was a bigger repair bill. Plus the guy seems to have a “pull” power that meant I couldn’t stand off and kite; and once I was in close I quickly ran out of any way to stay alive. I gave up after the fifth or sixth death; even when I managed to get all the NPCs alive at once and helping out, I simply couldn’t get him below about 50% before he killed me again. So once again I’m stuck on my personal story unless I go beg for help.
(I guess it’s possible that I could get past this one by respeccing and changing my gear. Call me old-fashioned, but I really don’t think that I should need to do that just to beat one particular story – that’s shades of the worst parts of the original Guild Wars. My character manages fine in the broader world on her current spec and gear – in fact I have world completion on her – so it seems reasonable to expect that she should be able to complete her storyline that way as well. Apparently not.)
Edit: OK – I wondered whether my big mistake might have been just running past the giants, rather than taking them out. Result (I’m guessing) – ranged fire that was killing off the NPCs, allowing the boss to drop out of combat and heal. Tried again, taking out the giants on the way. Still died once, but crucially this time the NPCs stayed alive until I got back. The boss couldn’t heal up, and I managed to take him down at the second time of asking. (Moral: Don’t cut corners.)

This story mode cannot be completed solo on a light armor class. Please scale it down. Sad that the final story mode boss is easier than this
Mesmer this helped me:
If you advance the final slope (with the Risen Spider Hatchlings) too slowly, the Risen Spider Lord will become buffed by Determined, making him impossible to kill. Therefore it is advised to rush past the waves of Risen Hatchlings till you reach the Risen Spider Lord rather then killing them.
The dev’s hate Orr. Have you noticed why no Living Story or new updates even touch Orr? It’s been abandoned since the plinx/cursed shore nerf.

The meta is changing at an alarming rate!
Understands the frustration. Currently stuck on the Ossuary of Unquiet Dead; had numerous attempts at trying to beat this solo, cannot get past the lower chamber section, my character is a guardian which has a lack of ranged options which makes it easy to be wiped out.
I dont think hes too hard, just right.
There shall be more champions like this in story which actually forces a player to learn his class and game mechanics, maybe change the weapon for it instead of 24/7 staff(necro) or longbow (ranger, warr) camping.
GW2 has the badest playerbase (for the most part) i´ve ever seen.
It would be better if you havnt nerfed everthing, like the whole open world…
there are some players who absolutely have no clue how to use dodge or other ulitiys.
This is serious! i respect everyone learning progress, but some ppl rather go to the forums and complain instead of learning it..
That is seriously serious. It ruins the quality of the game.
But dont worry, it probably doesnt effect the game store.

Light armor classes can complete Story mode solo. Especially if they know their class.
Honestly its not hard. It really is a test of how well you can play your class, and how familiar ur with at condi remove dodge and tactics in general. I soloed him on a ranger and a mesmer (LB, GS) (Staff, S/F) once you pull some spider mobs and take them out then focus on him after he turns into a spider. He goes down extremely quick to a zerk.
Completed my personal story solo…. my mesmer never had issues with it, and my mesmer’s only weakness is repeated condition damage applications faster than I can [Null Field] – kind of what this boss does.. At that time, I used Rampager. If not for this post, I wouldn’t even know people had problems with the Risen Spiderlord at all.
Focus on boss, kite spiders in a small circle and PBAoE near the boss. Maybe your problem is that you’re using a Greatsword and its attack is being blocked by spiders. Use a Sword up close, skill 2 to ‘Blur’ in response to the first attack against you by the boss, dodge the next, repeat. If you get caught and downed, kill one of the random small spiders with down skill 1 to res. Your Mind Wrack plus Sword autoattacks should kill spider summons faster than they pop with the spillover damage, even when you’re targeting only the boss the whole time. Make sure you only target the boss, so your clones don’t go disappear when a tiny spider dies and you can use them for more [Mind Wrack]
Elementalists AoE so much, it should be a complete non issue. It should be far easier than on the mesmer.
Necros… leech health, PBAoE near boss like in the same way as the mesmer.
The NPCs are unnecessary.

when you use well of blindness and well of corruption in the right way they become boring to fight, necro’s are really allot more powerful then you think.
