What happened to Zhaitan?
He died of laughter from people spamming ‘2’ for five minutes.
The End.
Was a bit disappointing when i took part in that fight. Spamming fireworks at an elder dragon for 5 minutes. It seems really lame considering all the hard work destinies edge put into slaying an elder dragon, including having another dragon fight with them, just to get here and see them must have done something horribly wrong if that is all and elder dragon has to offer.
I haven’t finished my story quest (due to a bug I’m waiting on being fixed on one of the missions before it) but I’ve heard that this is the ending. Admittedly I’m pretty disappointed with it too, but I haven’t been happy with personal story overall since Claw Island. I do wish they would’ve done something better here. Maybe we have to keep Zhaitan debuffed with the cannon and if it wears off, it makes him harder to damage or something. =/ But yeah… pretty lame.
I have to admit that the Zhaitan “battle” was really simple. I had to work harder to beat Shiro, Abaddon or the Lich.
It’s not made very clear (at all) but the cannons on the big shiny airship are special somehow. They tie back in to one of the previous quests where you discovered a way to poison the dragon’s magic and send it back. That’s why they are all pretty and sparkly and gold whereas the previous cannons in the mission you use to kill -other- dragons were like the ones you find out in the world.
Zhaitan is dead forever dead as you collect bits of him (somewhat morbidly) as dungeon tokens. However it’s not really mentioned why he was able to be killed. Maybe some better lore exposition would make the encounter feel more worthwhile, or perhaps whilst you’re wailing on him with the super glitter guns one of his lieutenants shows up and you have to use the other cannons to protect yourself.
It is a bit anticlimactic.
