I flew right through the story mode on my first character solo which at the time i had no problems with. Now that me and a friend decided to make new characters we wanted to be different races. I don’t know if this is intended or glitched but every mission we do even at the same quest level, doesn’t let either of us progress our story. This means we have to go back and fourth between the charr and norn story. Not only is this frustrating, but a majority of the quests are “talk to logan!” or just entering an instance just so i can skip the boring 2 hour dialog…

What happened honestly… Guild Wars 1 story was easy and fun to do with friends i guess it was more group oriented. I liked playing a single mission that had multiple cutscenes and objectives instead of “DRESS UP AS BANDIT, KILL DRAKE, 10 MINUTE CONVERSATION, HERE HAVE A HELMET REWARD!.”

Reward system is really funny. I suggest give a good reward but soulbound to character. Is many things that You can reward. One thing is bored in storyline mission, so dialog. All the time they standing same and same emotions. So even don’t want listen, so all the time I skip, because You can’t look how they acting. All the time same.

I really do miss the Guild Wars 1 story cinematics.

The longest cutaway scenes are less than 3 minutes, and you can skip any of them. Most are far shorter. There are occasionally issues with 2 people doing a PS together, and there are threads dedicated to these specific problems. File a bug report if you are having problems. Progress blocking happens in online games. GW1 had few, but there were almost no options.

GW2 makes it harder for people to miss the story entirely. In GW1, a common complaint I heard was “this makes no sense.” Like in the Nolani Academy mission, despite the fact it was explained in the handbook, by the soldiers in Fort Ranik, on at least 3 quests and partially explained in the Nolani mission itself, on multiple occasions I heard players saying a rainstorm helped defeating the Charr was “stupid” or “made no sense” (the city was burning down, and the Charr’s power came from their magical fires). Personally I like them explaining why we are doing what we are doing, rather than a random string of quests.

I think the story is the biggest let down to me as a GW1 player. Just shocked how little I enjoyed it.

The Guild Wars 2 project was/is simply too large to pull off each module with 100% quality production values.

You’ve got four major modules; Personal Story, PvE, WvW and PvP and all the content that goes with each—there’s no way all of them could have been released at 100% without going into some major red ink.

You can’t cater perfectly to all of the varying types of customers, and when you have to compromise which do you go cheap on? Obviously Personal Story because the game is first and foremost billed as an MMORPG.
