What is the point of the home instance? I’m level 60, I visit it every now and then and I haven’t seen it change at all. What is the function of this instance?

You know, I’ve been wondering the same thing…

I can only assume that it’s a place set aside for future player housing.

I was under the impression that the choices we made as we progressed through our personal story would impact the people populating the instance, and I have noticed this to be the case in some instances. Sylvari(The sylvari woman that you save from Bercilak joins you, but all she does is shoot arrows at target dummies with no conversational interaction. The blacksmith that you rescued just declines your invitation flat out and never comes to the grove.) Other than those few that I’ve specifically noticed, everyone is just a generic unnamed NPC that may or may not greet you when you attempt to interact with them, and none that will actually have a conversation.
I found it a little disconcerting on my asura that theses groups of Krewe Members and Research assistants were gallivanting and conducting meetings in my lab but wouldn’t give me the time of day. Felt like I had some kind of coup brewing just under the surface.

At the moment, nothing really. I visit it after ever personal quest to see if any change happens. Other then NPCs moving in or out, there isn’t much to see. None of them even have any dialogue. They should really add dialogue to those characters. It really disconnects you from them when you see them in this ‘silent state’. I’m sure it will be expanded on though. :)

I love the concept of the home instance, I’m sure if they did more work on it, it could be really great.

Yea, so far if I’ve been really disappointed in anything in the game it’s been the near total lack of any impact on your home instance. I was really looking forward to it evolving as my personal story progressed.

I’ve noticed nothing changed I thought they said win they was doing the Beta’s that the home was going to change or something like that…or they should make it allow that we can have more then one npc in our home or at least give the npc who do the welcome home something else to do beside sit there and drink there life away lol
