I am interested in starting a character I can “loosely” base on myself. I’ve thought It would be enjoyable to become an asuran warrior of the college of synergetics, because I’m moderately smart but also quite fit and strong, however I can only really place myself into the college of synergetics because I’m a bit of a philosopher at times (poetic, literate, often lost in thought, that type of thing).

When checking to see the wikipedia page though (not the best source but it seemed a good spot to start) it seemed to base them on nuclear engineers of all things… I’m not the best with mechanics or biology or maths, but I do excel at the literary sciences. Is the college of synergetics more closely based on philosophy and the connection of things or a more mechanical and chemical theology.

please help

I fear that asura in general are very focused on practical/physical applications.

That said, statics seems to have the most thoughtful approach to things.

Statics is about using established methods in a steady, controlled, way, and not taking risks. It’s not open to new ideas nor blue-sky thinking, so is definitely not “thoughtful” in the way people normally use the term.

Synergetics is definitely “philosopher’s” college, given that it is allow about the links between things, patterns, and complexity in general. It is certainly the most “blue-sky” of the colleges.

Go around Rata Sum and talk to the Asura there. They should give you a pretty good idea what everything’s about.

If you can read this then it is proof that ArenaNet’s moderators just, kind and fair.
