So you’re a PvE-er and you would like to get 100% Map Exploration Achievement. Great! Except that you can’t.
Whoever thought that combining WvW with a PvE-centric achievement would be fun/cool/great/exciting? It’s none of those things. In fact, its REALLY frustrating.
Why is it frustrating?
-You have to explore 3 exactly the same maps.
-It’s a problem to do that, because of other players and only one waypoint in the entire map.
-It’s very situational, a lot of Vista’s and POI’s are only accessible if your server has a hold of certain objectives.

What was the thought process behind this decision? I would really like to know because it makes no sense whatsoever. If ANet thought that in doing so, they would attract more players to WvW they were gravely mistaken. This makes WvW a pain in the *, especially for those that don’t like PvP.

So my suggestion is that WvW maps get removed from the exploration achievement, but they still retain their Vista’s, POI’s and Skillpoints for people that want rewards that come with them and it gives them a little extra to do in WvW.

Don’t get me wrong, I like WvW. But why in the hell do I have to explore those maps for 100% map exploration achievement?

One could also say that these 4 maps are in the mists and not in our world, Caudecus’s Manor is in our world but doesn’t count… odd isn’t it?

Pick a server that is currently dominating the other one, make use of “free server transfer every 24 hours” and go on a running hike…. that is if your server is bad and they still got the free transfers

Except that its free transfer every 7 days and no longer 24 hours. But agreed with the OP it’s annoying to be forced to do WvW for this, when i do WvW i want to be useful there, not making beelines to vistas.

Personally, I would be happy if they didn’t require tromping through exactly the same battleground three different times for the achievement. I don’t mind exploring in WvW, even with the threat of getting curb stomped by an enemy zerg, but it’s annoying to have to explore the same areas three times.

I hate the fact that WvW is needed for Map completion I really do, with that said WvW is one of the major selling points Arena Net pushed for GW2, and in turn they are trying to get more people to at least experience it.

Secondly the gift of exploration is used for Legendary items, this make the process longer and when one obtains the legendary makes them feel that much more special. Now I am sure that people are not going to agree with me and that is fine just saying that is how I see why WvW is part of Map completion.

WvW should not be mandatory for the 100% of map exploration. I am stuck at 94% or whatever since my server is not going to hold certain regions on WvW and I refuse to change to get it.

Personally I was stuck on 99% about 2 months ago – missing 1 WvW Poi that there was no way our server was going to get. Hated the fact that I had to WvW to get it. Luckily I woke up early at 3:AM EST and got that while everybody was asleep to get my 100% map completion since I refused to switch servers.

But in the end, throughout that whole journey, I realized the achievement has to mean something and yes it took a long time to get those last 3-4% world completion points but it was worth it.

Now when I see others with a star above their name or title “Been there done that” I know they had to go through the same thing I did to earn that achievement.

just waiting for stormbluff to dominate/own EB, but i don’t thin that will happen anytime soon. here’s to hoping, though!
