Hello, I have 100% world completion on my main character, and now when I go to my other characters I have my entire map blurred. I find it very disappointing that I have to rediscover areas just to see the map details, and this actually discourages me from playing my new characters. My suggestion is that upon reaching 100% completion with a character, you get access to an NPC that sells account bound map consumables. These consumables would merely reveal the maps details – such as towns, paths/trails, heart locations, etc. – but would NOT automatically complete hearts, pois, vistas, skill points, and waypoints, they would just show up on the map.
Some people may say this takes the fun out of playing a new character, but making this a consumable makes this completely optional. I can’t imagine exploring 8 characters to 100% just to see the map details, merely to create a level of authenticity.
Some other people will say that Google Tyria was not around in the games time, but they are just wrong: http://www.gw2db.com/maps . And if you already explored the map, why is it so necessary to explore it again?
I am making this suggestion because it seems ridiculous that I will need to Alt+Tab to gw2db maps repeatedly every time I need to figure out how to get somewhere. I know that the developers really worked hard to get rid of unnecessary time consumers ingame, by doing things like dungeon tokens, guaranteed drops despite kill stealing, etc. But this is one area I think they missed.
